Most likely yes even if it passes censorship & gets a distribution license the network won't air it right away since they have to broadcast other dramas too. They have to plan an investment promotional event for the cast & figure out a monthly time slot whenever they decide to air it. After all China is VERY strict w/ their laws/rules & regulations.

Tian Xiwei has been filming her historical drama w/ Yan An I've heard she will wrap up around April but of course she will need to get plenty of rest before she can start her new project again so I don't know if she'll take this role or not. As soon as Youku announces the FL there's really nothing we can do whether ppl like it or not we have no choice but to deal w/ who the production team casts.
Does anyone know if the novel has a happy ending? Republican-era dramas rarely have happy endings.
Some ppl who've read the physical copy have said it's a sad ending we don't exactly know how the ending will be in the drama since the scriptwriters can change certain parts from the novel so we'll have to wait until they broadcast it to find out.
