It doesn't quite make sense to me why they arrested him specifically as a murder suspect though. There were other options for what happened, so if no body was found why arrest him as a murder suspect and not as someone who was with her the night she disappeared and might be able to tell them more

It bothers me because so much of the story depends on the ex being dead, but it doesn't make sense why they would classify her as dead in the first place. Unless it's a case of police officers being corrupt i guess, we'll see
