I'm looking at this as a third person I'm not looking at Seol as Seol even though the drama is trying to make me be Seol but I'm still managing to look at everything as a third person. What I said is my opinion and the way I saw it, I wouldn't befriend someone who is only consumed of their own world. You guys are treating me like someone who is not getting what the story is saying. I know what the drama is doing and I know everything about Seol just like you all I've been seeing the same drama just as 3rd eye prospective. I've explained my thoughts twice but I don't think anyone is thinking it through. Let's just agree to disagree if you don't see her selfish that's fine but it's also fine that I do. I never doubted YJ's love for Seol I know in his own twisted way he loves her and care for her. However the truth to be said he is the one who is always making situations worse for her. I always admired the fact that is not the knight in shining armour from the first ep I loved that he doesn't go to the rescue. And I know he is planning something about the stalker guy but his reactions are cold I can't just ignore and say they aren't because the way I see them they are cold. YJ is the reason for my obsession about this drama and me trying to understand analyse him all the time is what makes this drama charming to me I swear things would be different if YJ wasn't there.
As for Seol it seems I'm the only one who can't fully 100% justify her behaviour. Yes she had parents who ignored her and paid attention to her brother first, yes she had to depend on herself yes she needs the scholarship...ect believe me I can relate to everything she went through I had to work part time during college I had to support myself I wasn't spoiled by my parents I had to receive scholarship I had to do everything by myself. I know exactly how this situation is, I had no time to have fun in my life and consumed in my own world my own problems BUT I never acted this selfish I never took my friends as just supporters I was the number 1 supporter of them all. I never only thought of myself and my own problems and ignore the whole world no matter how much I'm having hard time I don't just think of myself only. Sure we all can be selfish sometimes sure we all think of ourselves first and sometimes ignore the needs of others but that shouldn't be ALL the time. It's just wrong and I don't like it when people are just consumed of their own world people around have rights on you too. You want to be loved you need to love too. Every time it's always someone asking her what's wrong and supporting her and helping her I never saw her concerned about anyone or asking anyone about anything happening in their lives. For example the scene when she lost her part time job and she was eating lunch with her friends as always spaced out thinking of her own problems. She is sitting with her friends yet she isn't really with them and Bo Ra had to comfort her and tell her she will help her find part time job. Bo Ra is everything a true friend is and I'm sorry but Seol is not. I know my comment upset many people clearly many didn't like it because of how much everyone loves Seol I like her too but I can't ignore those aspects in her. That was too much "me" of her she at least could've smiled and hugged Bo Ra or at least could've said thank you. Just think about it guys if you have a friend like Seol in real life someone who is always consumed of her own world would you be that understanding would be ok if she is like that all the time with you? Would you love her as a friend the way you are loving her as character now? Please just think about it deeply and imagine her as you friend or girlfriend and tell me honestly not because you are bias answer me with honesty would you have loved her and understood her the same way you do now? We are humans not angels and humans need to receive attention, love and care just as much as they want to give it away. This is what I call taking things for granted it's just not ok.
Again I think I will upset many people with my opinion on Seol.

I think he is creating situations for Seol where she suffers from problems and goes to him for help or at least this way he feels he can keep her next to him by doing that. I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself well. I just think YJ is going for "the end justifies the means" meaning he is deliberately putting Seol through this drama to keep her closer he thinks by doing that he can keep her. I'm not saying that he goes around scheming, no he doesn't but he is using situations which he may had nothing to do with in the beginning and make it worse for Seol. It keeps happening over and over.
Also when the stalker guy showed him the messages (the ones In Ha) has sent though YJ's phone to Seol on ep 8 & 9 he smiled. He gave away a smirk do you guys remember? How come in ep 9 he got so angry and mad when he saw In Ha's phone and threw the phone in the sink. He already knew about these messages and smiled why did his attitude change now?
Another thing is when he saw the videos of the stalker harassing Seol, omg he was way too calm!! He saw two videos and his reactions in both are too casual, cold and indifference. He only reacted when he saw In Ho in the video.
Could it be that I misunderstood YJ? I'm not judging his character I'm just analysing the things I've seen so far.

When YJ seemed like he ignored her when he was walking to the vending machine she got so angry went to the toilet and said "how could he pretend that he doesn't know me". I was like what? what did you do to him moments ago in the class? wasn't that ignoring him as well? Weren't you the one who said "leave me alone for the time being"? I get that girls in general are difficult to deal with specially when they are mad and upset at you but that was too much she is literally not thinking of anyone here but herself. Also it's been 10 eps already and I never saw the reasons behind her friendship with Bo Ra and Eun Taek. What did she do to deserve those two? Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to bash Seol I'm simply stating my opinion. I like Seol but I have to be honest the only thing I've seen her do for her friends so far is when Bo Ra's dad was admitted to the hospital that was the ONLY time I saw her friendship the only time the drama showed me prove that those 3 are really friends. Again beauty is subjective, we are allowed to like what we like and dislike what we don't like. Nobody is forcing you think of her as beautiful, you are getting angry at people who think she is beautiful (I'm one of them) and just like you have the right to think she is not people have the right to think she is. If you are talking about Birth of Beauty there are reasons for choosing her for that kind of role she met the standards whether you see them or not the drama makers saw them in her.

You didn't get my point about IOTL and no matter how much you defend her character I will not agree nor see the things you see why? because I see no redemption for her character and the way she behaved as a doctor. I can go on rambling hours and hours about my dissatisfaction with IOTL and the way they handled psychology and the characters and the acting because that's one drama I have on my blacklist and I'm pretty much merciless when it comes to this drama. That's how much I had high expectations and got slapped in the face.
Where did you see that he became a 5 star professional? Also what does age has to do with you being good at something? Yes granted that experience is important but it's not the only thing that defines how good you are at something I don't get this point. What does age and lack of long time experience has to do with skills and talent? So do all long term professionals who had years of practice are perfect? Experience does not guarantee you that.
As for age I already explained that it happens and I know people starting their masters already and they are born in 1993.

What? that was my biggest problem with IOTL Gong Hyo Jin's character had childhood trauma and had a problem yet she was in denial all the time! She treated people and she was telling them come forward and admit your sickness yet she never admitted hers. The drama finished with them ignoring the fact that she was in denial of her own problems. That was unforgivable to me.
As for this drama Sung Joon's character has childhood trauma yes, but he isn't having obvious problems because of that. In IOTL she couldn't do or accept skin skinship. That's not the case here, his childhood trauma has had consequences on his personality but it's not something he feels the need to treat and not something he needs to treat before becoming psychiatric.
Also he is not falling for her too fast he is still obsessed with his experiment, she's slightly changing the way he thinks but she hasn't changed him yet. I don't see the fast base you are talking about I think the drama's flow is going perfectly in nice base. As for age why you think he's too young? he's born in 1990, I know students starting their PHD on this age which means they've finished Bachelor degree and master's degree.
