I pray to god that they don't let Park Shin Hye play her. I have this gut feeling that she might be one of the actresses suggested for the role. Don't get me wrong, I like PSH...but her acting skills need some improvement.

I'm not trying to justify or commend kdrama's ability to do slapstick, but there was one korean drama that I think got pretty close. History of the Salaryman, if you haven't already seen it.

It's not a depressing story with a loooot of crying, but it definitely is a melo through and through. And it is quite a slow story. Although I personally loved that aspect of it, even though I normally don't. The directing, music, and visual aspect was beautiful to look at though. I recommend watching the first few episodes and decide based on that, because the pace of the show seems to remain the same throughout, except the first few episodes deal with the younger versions of the characters. Hopefully you give it a chance and enjoy it!~~ Kya!^^ Fighting!

I'm not quite sure what I thought it would be, but there aren't very many people here on MDL (from the forums) who have close to 90+. It's definitely not a bad thing though, you can never have too many dramas. ;)
