there are differences but if you saw the preview for episode 26 i think it is going in the direction of break up. But her mother wasnt in the drama so far so maaaybe it wont go in that direction

well in the novel they break up.. Nan Chu is going to the states because of her mother and acting.. after a year or so (novel is AI translated) she comes back and is pursuing ML but he doesnt trust her because she did just go away without saying anything..
