I'm actually so relieved. I was starting to feel like the most annoying person for not liking it, almost like I was just trying to be different from everyone else. But I really didn't like it; I didn't enjoy anything about this drama. Whenever I remember having to watch a bunch of elderly mages bickering over a stone for almost 15 minutes, all that annoyance comes right back.
What is there to say about Alchemy of Souls? I don't know what happened, but I couldn't connect with any of the characters. Mu-deok seemed promising at first, but over time she became boring and a bit listless. Seo Yul was unbearable and lacked any charisma; Park Dang-gu is annoying, a gossip, and clueless. I swear I was rooting more for Mu-deok with the Crown Prince (Go Won) than with Jang Uk. I found the story dull and dragged out; I believe it only succeeded because of the excess of handsome men wanting a single woman. It is way too OVERRATED, and honestly, I have zero interest in watching Part 2.
