Review: Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha
Comecei a assistir no ano passado e acabei abandonando no início do episódio 7.

I started watching this last year and ended up dropping it at the beginning of episode 7. This year, I decided to give it a second chance and picked up exactly where I left off, but honestly, I just dragged myself through the rest of the drama.
The biggest issue for me was the female lead. I just couldn't bring myself to like Yoon Hye-jin; she manages to be insufferable, annoying, and at times, completely unbearable. I felt like dropping the show for a second time constantly. Additionally, I felt the main couple had zero chemistry. At the very moment Hong Doo-sik (Chief Hong) needed emotional support the most, Hye-jin simply pulled away and let go of his hand for no reason. In my opinion, Chief Hong had much more chemistry with the director, Ji Sung-hyun, than with this spoiled dentist.
Honestly, I’ve never watched a drama with so much reluctance. The show might have been perfect if the lead character were written differently or if the actress, Shin Min-ah, had taken a different approach. I won't give it a rock-bottom rating only because the residents of Gongjin are wonderful and their side stories save the show, not to mention Hong Doo-sik's (played by Kim Sun-ho) backstory is very powerful and well-developed. In the end, it’s worth watching more for the village community than for the central romance.
