Congrats on the article! It looks very nice and complete!I also have mixed feelings... It started very well and…
Yes the first time around I wasn't so bothered by the second couple - but on my second watch they genuinely got on my nerves and were the only real notable downside. The swimmer was just this pathetic whiney waste of a person who just had no respect for Na Ji Na ("I liked you first, so date me!" - come on, that's.... worse than school kid) and found their story just got in the way of what I really wanted to watch which was the back and forth between the main leads.
I watched DAYS till the end. I loved it a lot! I can easily rewatch this any time. So, your think at the end of…
Must admit I probably lean much more towards the dramas aimed at females - I'm less interested in action and more interested in Romance and slower character-led dramas. I watch a mix, but definitely the romance ones are the ones I look forward to :)

Wow that's a really interesting point - if it transpires the drama HAS resonated more with male viewers than female, that might explain the lower and falling numbers since i'm pretty sure (warning: gross stereotyping and assumption ahead...) that the male/female ratio of drama viewers probably skews heavily in favour of female.
I think (again, more stereotyping) that many male's probably prefer action to character-led, but maybe it's the cross-section of males who like kdrama that leads you to a more strongly responding audience for this one, perhaps.
Not sure where the data would be to dig into that, but I will keep it in the back of my mind - it's a really interesting idea :)
I agree with almost all "DISLIKED" comments of the drama, but I still liked it. I suppose I prefer a predictable…
Glad you enjoyed the article - I want to explore other ways of understanding "by the numbers" - it was really interesting digging into this one and it might be interesting to do this kind of thing among the more popular dramas to then see if there's something interesting to derive about each new drama that comes up for example. Thanks for the comment!
Great job on the article! My two cents - The show lost its steam after the 4th episode, I couldn't take it & dropped…
The first watch, the second leads were interesting. Second time around they drove me up the wall and I wanted them off the screen whenever they were on it :) Glad you enjoyed the article!

I think the nature of this story has polarised people quite a lot - whether they went in with different expectations based on previous entries in the genre, or it just didn't keep them interested - where as others such as yourself and myself have been fully engaged throughout.
I think there's going to be some interesting learnings that the production crew take from this one and the feedback of it to try and understand how to better live up to expectations.
For me this one wasn't about action, it was purely character-led and this whole dilemma of saving Doom's life throughout and all the back and forth, the push and pull etc was really good. I wrote a huge amount of notes as I was watching this the second time and it really moved at a much faster pace than I remembered from the first watch.
Wonderful article as always :) I assume it is visually designed by Cho Na, it's really beautiful. I particularly…
Thanks Anushka! Cho Na did indeed do a fantastic job on the design - and spent an incredible amount of time on all those gifs too, really makes a huge difference!
I will have to go read your review - as you say, contrasting view points are interesting to read and see things from different perspectives!
I believe #whileyouweresleeping is underrated ..... it should have made a lot of noise and top the table but it…
Yes it was excellent - had great characters and cast, and the story had hintings towards a time-travel type feel without being time travel. My daughter watches this one over and over and over :)
This is an amazing list really nicely put together!! :)
I have seen so many of these I am now a little concerned about how much time I spend watching KDrama, and on the flip side, curious about the ones I havent watched and ready to start ploughing into those... so... yeah. :)
Some fantastic dramas here - really well picked out :)
Data is beautiful when someone sorts and sifts out the noise. It's a lot of hard work though so I'm glad there…
I don't recall ever seeing a watcher count go *down* so I can only assume that it's essentially anyone that's got a show in anything other than "not interested" and not in a list at all. I.e. if i'm currently watching, or planning to, or even if i dropped it - i was a watcher at *some point*.
Just guessing though, the exact makeup of the various stats isn't available unfortunately so we have to extrapolate a bit.
Interesting analysis. I think perhaps shows like “Boys Over Flowers” and “Heirs” are slightly declining…
I definitely think there's a case for the style evolving over time. I definitely found that some of the scenes and interactions were uncomfortable to watch - but most newer ones are fantastic in that respect, so I think there's certainly a situation where dramas are not aging as well as others even if they were great favourites in their time, newer viewers are being turned off from them and focusing on behaviours they can better relate to and understand - perhaps?
What about the excellent and funny "Mr. Queen"? it should be in the charts as well.
It's currently down at position 159 with around 29,000 watchers so it has some way to go - however it's rank is 21 which is really good - so that gives some hope that it might progress up the charts. I completely agree, it was really unique and I loved how they did it - plus, Shin Hae Sun rocks everything she does :)
Thanks for the comment :)

She doesn't watch a lot of KDrama, but does like KPop :) (BTS mostly, she went to their last concert in the UK and had a blast)
