It’s not as if Zhu Yun’s love for Li Xun is coming out of nowhere. In college, she lacked ambition of her own and always followed her parents’ decisions. Li Xun brings out her passionate side. He gives her a safe environment where she can take risks and learn new things. She found her first dream with him.
The King × Knight reference also fits because he inspires her.
I think Li Xun really repent his actions more than just sad looks. While he apologised he properly admit his mistake without making any excuses. I think he understands if he can't get himself to confess than Zhu Yun is not obliged to explain her situation with painter either. Later he become even more considerate of her and gradually release his emotional guard.
Li Xun fears vulnerability so he look for control, hate and revenge as coping mechanism . Infact letting go revenge is the hardest thing for his character by doing it he make more space for love in his heart. Zhu Yun always entrust her life with him and in the end Li Xun also learned to entrust his life with her . Whether he deserves second chance may remain subjective to people but his growth is real .
Also I wanna add that I always found it unfair to reduce his entire character to whether he is fantasisable or not . He is not fantasisable but he is well written and well acted . We need not to always watch stories for swoon worthy male leads. Sometimes we can watch and like it for psychologically deep characters.
And the claim that their relationship is an example of Stockholm syndrome is inconsistent with the story.
WTH is going on ? why so many negative comments are clustering here? This drama is not as bad as their words. This is a "literary romance" and not a typical idol romance . The story explores flawed characters, their choices, and their growth rather than presenting role models for everyone to follow. One of the points of the story is learning from people who are different from us and growing beyond our own recurring flaws and limitations. Criticism is fair, but the amount of vitriol directed at the characters is unnecessary and is only making the atmosphere hostile. And criticizing a story is definitely not an excuse for fandom bashing.
Female lead is the best thing about this drama and Li Xun loves her very much . Not only does he ows her apology but the years of unconditional love she have for him. So if she nags he will listen , if she throws tantrum , then he will please her and if she complains then he will change his ways for her but never loose her again . Cause she is his princess and he can do anything for her.
Some people watched a very stupid amnesia story that has only 5.5 douban rating . That'swhy they are jealous and degrading a really nice drama Lighter and Princess .
