On The Story of Pearl Girl Nov 24, 2024
I honestly don’t mind sad/open endings as long as the story is done correctly and the outcome made sense. Storytelling and the acting is what draws me in and keep me tuned in. Ofcourse, I would love a HE especially when the actors are so good and believable in their chemistry and acting even if their happy ending was in the final 1-2 minute of the show. Lol

Still here. Still rewatching on Netflix and waiting for “new episodes”. Not interested in watching new dramas yet. HL is really hard to let go. It was that good and left such deep impression.

I restarted watching this again. This time on Netflix. Loving it the second time. The OST is perfection. It really fits the story and its placement. I just refuse to move on from this drama. Not yet.

Just finished. A 10/10. I enjoyed each and every episode. No ffs, no skips. No fillers and no unnecessary drama. Great storytelling. It was such a heartwarming journey. I laughed, I cried alongside the characters. A must see. I highly recommend. I will miss Sang Zhi and Duan Jiaxu so much. Casts were superb! Love Lusi. She always delivers. CZY really impressed me. He is such a good actor and I’ll definitely watch his future projects. HL have become one of my absolute favorite drama. This deserves all the love and success!!

This no new episode for days wait is so torturous and I was complaining about 1 ep a day and the series being only 25 episodes. Lol 😩

The age difference is really not a lot. But because she's just at the legal age, we need to let her grow up a…
I agree. I don’t understand why some are making such a big deal. It’s not like he pursued her at 14. They both adults now and after 18, 5(?) year age gap is really nothing irl. Many of us has had experienced on crushing on someone who is “older”. Almost like a rite of passage. Their story is relatable in some way that make us “reminisce” And enjoy.

I love this so much. It’s so cute and not in the corny way either. I know age gap plots can be cringey at times but they did a really good job with this one. You can’t help but relate at times with your own personal experiences of first crush/love. The leads have great chemistry. No dragging subplots. Each episode is a must watch and gets better too. The one episode a day kinda sux because it feels like each ep is only 10 minutes long. A must watch definitely.

Could the ending be better? Yes but I’m not totally mad about it compared to others I’ve seen with same genre as of late. If they continued the drama beyond ep40 clearly its a HE with the couples reunited. It’s just we weren’t privy to it. 😩 Overall I enjoyed this drama and one of the best xanxia I’ve seen. I very much liked that they didn’t drag the “mortal arcs”. The story flowed well without boring parts. The story & characters (development) was well done and kudos to the actors. Chemistry was on point for the couples and other characters (friendships). They were all perfectly casted. 9/10 for me. I’m gonna miss it but will definitely be on my re-watch list.

I just started watching this and raaawr. It’s so different from other cdramas I’ve watched. The wait for new eps will be a test of patience.

Is the annoying child going to be in every freaking episode? Cant the dad be like all the other rich C drama parents…
Honestly, I find myself FF’ing scenes with the kid. I don’t like that storyline angle. Feels force and emotional manipulation towards the FL.

Enjoying this drama so far. I like the back and forth timeline. My only issue so far is…
The Kid. I don’t think it was necessary to add the 6 yr. old adopted kid storyline. The couple have enough issues to deal with without the kid and it feels super force. Not enjoying that angle. As I mentioned, totally unnecessary.

I love the ending shot with Huo Buyi surrounded by the Chengs looking at the stars. He is finally a part of a big caring loving family that he lacked for 20+ years.

After watching Ep 48, there was no way I could wait to watch the rest and bought Express. This is hands down the best drama. Everything about it was perfection from the leads, supports, director, everyone who was involved in this production. I loved every moment and episode and will re-watch for many times in the future. Also, loved the comments section. My first time interacting with others while watching.
