They left a little hint for us in end which indicates for season 2 but all main mysteries were solved so maybe it's just to maintain that intense vibe… or maybe there's another season coming soon but there's no news from official sources yet… if they will again bring this kind of interesting stories, I am up for the new part… but if they plan to lower up their standards, it's better to leave the drama here only…
Tan Jianci as Shen Yi is doing a really great job in his role… every time he acts as sketching or making the portraits… it looks so real… I've never seen any of his works before but I am interested in them now…
I am so satisfied with the amount of Art and portraits in this drama 😌… it's making everything more realistic and reasonable… enjoying watching the drama overall!

This was going on in my mind just now too… I have watched only 5 episodes but I don't see much contribution by the police force and ML be like solving every detail, even though his work is to just draw portraits while Du Cheng doesn't look like a main role, but more like a supporting role in front of Shen Yi
Looks like many people seem rather disappointed with the ending… so here's what I think of it…

His mom being the killer was actually acceptable for me… I was kind of thinking that since she has entered the palace and worked with the Consort for so long, how can she not know of her secrets, I mean they looked pretty close… Then the ending of how Qiu Yan wrote a letter and left him was little over the cliche for me… She could've told Liang Yi and consoled him for his mom instead of that running away drama… Anyway they got their fairytale ending that I was wishing for, so I am happy lol Qiu Min saving her suddenly was unexpected, like when did she like her sis so much that she was willing to give her own life… maybe if they showed us that she regrets some of her decisions beforehand or any scenes of guilt in Qiu min, I will surely buy that twist… Yuan Lang getting promoted was accepted by me again because that's politics Man, not everything will be like fairytale and it's not necessary that it will go good in the end… And I am actually happy the child was not their or that will be too cliched for me and this would end up like another destroyed drama for me… thank God, the kid was the landlady's son, I literally took a breath of relief XD
But as a whole I still like the story cause… I can't actually think of any other possibilities to end this drama they have created… for the last few episodes I was already worried of how they would wrap so many things… I know it's kinda lazy but its still satisfying… it's not completely illogical
