Wu Jinyan did a lot better than I imagined and the double wouldn't be the same without Duke Su, undeniably one of the most catchy parts of the show, he was so worth watching! 🤭

I agree with the one dimensional aspects of the characters and how they kept on dragging with silly misunderstandings and her BFF was quite painful to watch.

I remember holding a water bottle in my hand trying to drink but I just couldn't, that part was kinda iconic, one of the best moments of GWIA xD

Justice team was pretty wholesome. I guess every girl have once dreamed of opening a flower shop and living the dramatic life like that haha, it was such a combination!... I haven't seen the other drama you mentioned so ig I can't compare them... But for GWIA, its becoz dramas like this aim have good enough exposure to the younger audience and chinese censorship rules are too complicated, you can take it as "they don't want the audience to be too delulu and assume that fantasy powers like this might exist in real life", hence the makers are forced to put "story within a book" Concept.. . We can pretty much ignore this part... Glad the review helped!

Agreed! Ep 32 was undeniably the peak! Turned predictable later but ngl emotional angst game was strong. I did get a bit bored of continuous CGI fights but that one Phoenix scene for Xu Haiqiao pulled me back.

Her origin was really too predictable. I guessed it long before finale... Yet having Xu Hai Qiao playing that role was a smart decision. He made the past story 10x better ✨

I was expecting a good dramatic scene after she lost the powers, like him giving a long speech on "oh I love your personality, coolness, blah blah" But bro dealt it all with one line 🤣... I want to see BTS of "teaching him how to act" scene, it gave me real second hand embarrassment with her cat/dog actings 🤣🤣

Haha srsly that white hair looked sooo good!!... What distracted me more though was that his eyebrows were black but hairs white 😅... LGX still nailed that look!
