I don’t know what everyone thinks about the ending, but personally I don’t think this was a happy-ending kind of kdrama. HOWEVER the ending is important not just for the story line but for the viewers. like the show said, (I’m paraphrasing) each one of us is someone’s family or friend meaning that each one of our lives is valuable. I think this is an important reminder for a lot of us. I honestly felt confused for a lot of the drama, but by sheer will power and my appreciation for Nam Joo Hyuk I stuck with the series and thank goodness I did. I love a lil cry sesh and this did the trick 🥹 I think all the actors did a fantastic job and I appreciated the drama’s commentary on the treatment of the older generation (flashback to the elevator scene). this is not a typical drama, but its worth the watch.
the reason for my 8.5 review is for the amount of times I was scratching my head in confusion- like I get that it’s supposed to be a puzzle that you don’t understand until the end, but the only excuse for the confusion is the (spoiler) illness (I’m not saying the exact illness in order to not completely spoil it) at the end. that almost feels like a deus ex machina plot device but what do I know- it’s still a good show, but it requires patience.
