I think the king and queen genuinely loved each other at one point and still do but at some point, he became the king and had to focus on the kingdom. And the queen also had responsibilities. Also, the queen did not get preg on time and consorts started making their way through. Of course, she got preg many times after the 1st born from consort Hwang but all of this distanced them both with time.

I'm seeing comments about prince bogeum having a dark side and being rude to his mum. But let's be real here. His mum is constantly pressuring him to climb the ladder and become the king. when he has practically no one officially to support him through it. This is the reality, if you don't have the money, the power, and the influence already with you then who will want to support u to be up there. In those times being the king means his line of the family will also get more power. No one on the opposite side would want that power to go to the poor maid's prince. The other princes have at least something whether it's money, power, or being just the queen's son. Also, he gets bullied so much for being clever. if the other princes apart from the grand princes had the chance they would've gotten rid of him instantly. He knows all this and is still standing up tall. But his mum does not see the ugly side like him,

The king seems to be supportive of the queen so I think the queen dowager will do something to him at some point.

Who else thinks that consort hwangs son is not the king's child but from an affair? But i don't think its the physicians but some old lover.

The main reason I think the writers chose to k!ll the abusers loved ones was because that's what will give them real heartache, the heartache of losing your child before your own death because of what you did to others children. Because if they just k!ll the abusers then this might as well become a 2hr movie instead of a whole drama. Also, the whole point is to show that they were tortured so badly that this is what they became from innocent children to psychopathic serial killers. Also apart from that we also have an example of one child being mentally abnormal (he is still stuck at the moment). This is the main point the writer wants to show - the different outcomes of such brutality at a young age.

ngl that part is confusing to me as well. Some say they r brothers. Where as i remember there was a scene where someone said that the judge came with yoon jae and his sister from another care but the judge isn't related. so im not sure.

The fact that they all revealed their crimes was such an experience to watch. And the fact that Eunki has no fault in all of this but still got the heaviest blow of her life by finding out about her birth secret. Honestly feel really bad for her.
