BEST COMEDY SHOW OF THE ERA
Oh my.....
I just finished this and I just...
I just...
I'm blank.
I don't believe in perfection, but this series was P E R F E C T I O N <3 And I will tell you why in this essay 😂
Every scene in this show felt so thoughful and important! I had to literally rewatch the episode the moment I finish watching it in worry that I missed something!
The absolute BEST parts:
-How focused it was on the main characters: Now, don't get me wrong, I love all the multicouple shows in Thai BL world. But lately, I feel like some characters and couples are just thrown in there with absolutely too much focus on them, that it takes away from the main couple. I literally had to drop some series because the main couple's storyline suddenly became so unimportant or uninteresting as compared to the second leads. Now this, this series was PERFECTION IN THIS! ABSOLUTE GOLD! Each episode was about THEM! Their own stories were going on (e.g., Peach and his lovely orphanage, Thee's struggles of wanting a normal life like having Mok be his friend rather than his bodyguard), and their worlds were then interwoven so DARN BEAUTIFULLY! They had adult problems going on, and they handled them like adults and I love them for it! The other characters were shown just enough that I FRICKING FELL FOR EACH OF THEM TOO! Like Note being the one to bust Peach and Thee? Puh-lease. Peak comedy. Aran and Tawan's random love-hate relationship? I don't even need to know what happened in their life because I know enough, and I love them (Tawan still a little sus though). MOK AND ROME????? GET THEM A SPIN OFF LIKE YESTERDAY!!! I loved each charcater, because it always somehow came back to Peach and Thee <3
-The plot: Okay, is it just me or was every show starting to have the same storyline? Random action scenes, a killer, and a back-stabbing best friend 😬 I really thought it was going to be one of those when I started this. THANK GOODNESS IT WASN'T! The plot is basically 'how to make a guy fall in love with you in 30 seconds or less,' and the steps include: be a charming gentleman (even if you're in the mafia), become his family by caring for his darn family (or like pretty much adopting them), and follow every comedic or flirty line with the most seriously romantic shit known to mankind. And get him body soap named after his name for extra points. Viola, you're married 🤩 Like.... I didn't even know I needed this kinda plot in my life till I had this plot in my life. Again, I love how it was just 10 episodes of Thee wooing peach, and each character learning about themselves. No extreme drama, no toxicity between the male leads, and goodness, I've replayed episode 4 and 5 on repeat like daily. Mostly for Thee's glasses look, Mok singing, MokRome, and Peach allowing himself to be taken care of for once. It really made me believe that if you love hard enough, everything just falls into place. That's literally what this felt like. And damn, Thee calming down Shohei with his iconic one liner made me scream in glee. Like wth I couldn't even hate the one "evil" guy in this. I hated Wavid more than him (no offence to the actor who played him) 😑
Humour: Like, when I say I haven't laughed this much for a show, I mean it. Even the darn music had me rolling on the floor at 3am. Like....I can't even with it. And the fact that they KEPT UP with it! Like humour wasn't just an add-on only to be thrown under the rug after episode 3 or 4. No, this was a PURE, COMEDIC, GOLD BULLDOZER OF A MASTERPIECE! Best comedy show of the ERA! P.S. the humour of the last 10 minutes of this show needs to be studied. I literally believed for a moment that Mr. Thee bought GMMT(HEE)V 🤣🤣🤣 (Actually had to AI search it like Thee to confirm)
Some more iconic things:
-Comedy? Best I've seen recently.
-Music? Perfection. (Like, finally someone understands how music can make a comedy scene 9000 times funnier!)
-Cinematogrophy? Beautiful.
-Sets: I believed the entire Lee empire exists in real life, ok?
-Casting/Acting? 100000/10.
-Thee's moments of seriousness? I cry.
-Peach's hairflip? Call an ambulance for me.
-Toxic Tawan? Eh. He was still hot.
-Note finding out about Peach and Thee? I literally peed my pants. Don't know why I find this man hilarious in everything he has ever been in.
-Plub being babied and helping her brothers (Rome and Thee included) with their loves? My inner child screamed in glee for her.
-Thee and Peach becoming husbands and dads in one day? Okay, guess I'll die of an emotional overload heart attack!
-Est as bodyguard (with a forbidden love trope)? I didn't know I needed this to live until I saw it.
-Every single person's hair in this. Like, the hairstylists need a raise like yesterday (shoutout to the blue hues in Thee's hair, Mok' comma look, Ms. Nat's iconic headpieces, and Peach's floofy bedhead hair)
Overall, this has been such a perfect blend of maturity and comedy! Peach's backstory, Thee's struggles of wanting to live a normal life. Even the side couple's struggles like Aran trying to leave a toxic relationship, and Mok and Rome's tension between the difference in their roles, everything was done PERFECTLY! We got to explore so many different worlds in this! Every character was hilarious and also made me cry at least once in the show!
I was so sad when I started watching this as it was airing cause waiting for every Saturday was a pain, but we got through it! I wish I recorded my reactions every episode because dang, they were loaded! Now I'm sad that I don't have this to look forward to on my Saturdays 😢
Now I'm just waiting to buy an Arseni perfume. And waiting to see what this new GMMT(HEE)V owner has to offer 🤔
P.S. Episode 5 when Peach is just listening to Thee's nonsense confirmed it's PeachThee ok?
