Yes it’s dubbed. The actors do say their dialogues but in c-dramas, most of the time they also have voice actors dubbing for them. This is for a lot of reasons but to name a few: the difference in the actors’ chinese dialects, the actors’ actual voices not matching their characters, the audio being unclear due to filming outside (in this case the actor can dub themselves too) & many other reasons

If there’s one thing I’m hoping for them to change in the drama then it’s the fate of XHD’s son 😢 he didn’t deserve anything than happened to him. He was only born as a mere power tool for the empress dowager 😭
