For the millionth time, all that matters to a live-action adaptation is what we see on the screen. All your references…
This is literally an ADAPTATION of the novel, it's supposed to follow the novel (except that they made some changes here and there) and no, all my references are completely relevant to the story cuz some of y'all were complaining it's too much of a slow burn and no romance is happening and I explained why it's so (literally what we are seeing on the screen). Do you even know what you're talking about cuz-😭

For ppl saying this is too much of a slow burn and nothing is happening except angst, y'all have to keep in mind that this is adapted from a priest novel who's literally known for writing angst like barely anything happens in the first 60 chapters of the novel if I'm not wrong. So comparatively the series is set in the perfect pacing. The last 2 episodes are likely to make up for all the trauma they showered us and it will indeed have a happy ending.
Moreover Wei Qian is a very complex character who went through batshit crazy stuff when he was little and has PTSD. So obviously it's not easy for him to open up to someone. He has never experienced parental love, has always been a giver, so it was novel for him to be on the receiving end, especially from someone so close and even think they could love him so dearly to the point that they'd lose their life for him (and hence the gang incident which made him realise it). Wei Qian has NEVER had it easy and requires ample time for himself before he considers something. so ig that should explain it.

Qian is so annoying to me sorry lol... the story is getting dragged too much... I hate BL shows that wait till…
This is the adaptation of a priest novel and mind you 9.9 of it is angst and slow burn and the rest is fluff and stuff and so relatively this is the best they can do, even the pacing and everything is so on point in the series if you ask me

I'm really jealous of the people who'll get to binge it once it's over and those who'll watch it later on. They will NEVER understand our pain and suffering while we yearn for the next episode (it's so serious to me pls)

I don't understand why Big Bro is so upset that small bro is gay. I thought Taiwan was one of the countries that…
If I'm not wrong, the book was written way back in 2010 when same-sex marriage was still not legal, so ig that should explain it

It definitely deserves a 9 or 9+ for being one of, if not the best bl ever made. It's also one of those shows that's mainly made for the queer audience. Portrayed the emotions of a closeted queer teen boy, trying to run away and then coming to terms with his sexuality so well. Definitely a standout from other shows out there!
