Title A Killer Paradox Spoiler
I can't speak on people who absolutely hate all sex scenes, but as someone not a fan of this particular one, I'll…
I mean it’s okay we have different opinions. I think by the end of the show he genuinely doesn’t have any guilt and that he’s just as bad as the people that he kills and that he infact isn’t doing any good and just simply likes killing people.

anyway we can agree to disagree 😂

like I literally just said it’s okay to read inbetween the lines. you’re legit just explaining the show that I just watched. regurgitating literal facts from the show that we all saw with our eyes. anyway I was talking about deeper meanings and trying to understand his character deeper than surface level. why did he continue to kill throughout the rest of the show ? the show was left on a cliffhanger not even suggesting but literally showing us he still continues to kill after escaping to another country and returning to Korea because he likes the fact that he gets away with murder. unlike rohbin he has no passion for injustice they’re both narcissists and delusional claiming Tang being a cold hearted killer as some sort of ‘power’ acting as though they were ‘God’. After rohbin dies why does he still continue to kill because he legit enjoys it. like I said before about the sex scene it was soemthing that used to excite him but now it doesn’t, he craves excitement in his life because as we can see he’s lost and looks for soemthing to give him life and honestly a bit of a purpose. blah blah blah he kills people, he enjoys it, it excites him as seen by the goose bumps on his neck (goosebumps are a sign of adrenaline or some sort of predator instinct) and continues to kill as there’s never any evidence. Why should he stop when he never gets caught - might now be his logic

I never said that he masturbates at the thought of killing someone? Don’t know where you got that from. My point was that he craves excitement and gets a kick out of getting away with different things. Also to be quite honest you can’t really have a well rounded opinion when you haven’t actually finished the show.

usually when you watch a psychological thrillers a lot of scenes have deeper meanings where you read in between the lines and not just what’s in front of you. the fact is him killing people and then getting away with it excites him. them being criminals is an excuse to kill for him so he doesn’t have to feel guilt.

stealing his friends tablet then getting away with it was exciting for him. him cheating but then getting away with it was exciting for him the thrill of almost being caught is thrilling for him. as we can see in the first few episodes he’s slightly lost and lacks motivation. the sex scene was supposed to be some sort of distraction for him but as we see the thought of cheating and getting away with it no longer excites him as other thoughts now occupy his brain for example him killing somoene. but the fact that he got away with it made him want to do it again

I do undertand where you’re coming from however I don’t think they were trying to use and dispose of women in this particular show. I know historically nudity and sex scenes were often use for the male gaze but it has improved quite alot sometimes even seeing full frontal nudity from men eventhough it’s rare. I really appreciate kdramas that do try and deviate from the norm it is refreshing. we did also have a nudity scene from a male actor in either ep 5/6. I think the reason why the scene was like that was to show us Lee Tangs psyche it definitely isn’t a show where I’d expect something revolutionary about the human body or sex. but I don’t think the scene was as degrading as your making out

tbh the drama was good but why would they focus on some random killer who comes out of literally no where instead…
yeah I think that’s what lets the show down slightly the change in focus

Title A Killer Paradox Spoiler
I feel like I’ve spoken about the sex scene too much because the show was much more than that
I think the ending showed us what a brutal murderer Lee Tang is. I don’t think he ever felt guilty for murdering people he was only ever scared of running out of his luck and getting caught. I think Lee Tang is so arrogant that he almost gave himself his own punishment by deciding to lay low in another country and when he managed to escape prison for like the 100th time he went back to Korea and started again. Showing us that he never really felt guilt for murdering people and targets criminals almost as an excuse to not feel bad when in reality I don’t think he’d feel bad regardless of who he kills. I think almost getting caught by police in another country triggered his adrenaline again.

The "sex scene" was more of a female nudity scene because they deliberately hid the male's groin. No one wants…
Tbf it’s not a ‘sex show’ so why would it need to be advertised as that as you know Netflix does inform you every episode of the themes. Also don’t really think kdramas are being ‘westernised’ like someone else said I’m pretty sure it’s more to do with censorship there’s plenty of x rated Korean movies. Also kdramas are extremely popular exactly the way they are and they already sell very well internationally so adding in nudity or sexual scenes does not make a difference and doesn’t make them any more appealing . However I understand why someone might not have liked it because me personally I don’t care for them but I do think the reaction to the scene is a little over the top.

Genuine question can I ask what you think the importance of that scene was? so many people think it was random and unnecessary however when you watch a psychological drama naturally you do have to read between the lines and look at the deeper meanings of things

so basically you didn’t undertand the meaning of that scene ? that scene wasn’t supposed to be arousing , it showed us that he no longer felt excited about how he cheated on his gf and got away with it but how he slowly started feeling excited at the thought of killing someone. he’s constantly craving for excitement and adrenaline and he’s extremely arrogant by the fact that he consistently gets away with everything because of his ‘luck’. it wasn’t supposed to be a ‘cool’ sex scene because that wasn’t the purpose of that scene

I’m not sure how to feel about song chon, I feel kinda indifferent about him I don’t think he ruined the show or anything but I think the storyline with Lee tang was just more interesting. The aesthetics of this show was amazing and I really enjoyed the artistic direction. Also I’m not the biggest fan of the ending I wish Lee Tang was caught it just adds to this obnoxious ‘luck’ that he annoyingly has. maybe we’ll get a season 2 where he’s finally caught

1000% cheating and getting away with it, stealing his friends tablet and getting away with it, murdering someone feeling guilt then realising that they were a criminal so that person then ‘deserved’ to die.

He’s an absolute narcissist, selfish and consistently seeks pleasure in doing bad things.

Also I agree him cheating and no longer feeling any pleasure at the thought of remembering it but now having an adrenaline rush at the thought of killing soemone deffo makes more sense as to why they included that sex scene. He deffo didn’t confuse the two

And I think the meaning of that scene was supposed to be Tang confusing the pleasure of sex with killing I’m not completely sure but it’s one way of looking at it
