I agree completely it’s barely begun. I also think he admires how smart she is and despite societies expectations for a woman she still goes after what she wants. When she spoke about how there isn’t enough opportunities for women in Joseon he almost looked disappointed as if he doesn’t feel like he’s done enough as the CP. Honestly I think people are nitpicking a little

Also the CP started off as being cold because he had good reason to be very suspicious of Jaeyi and Jaeyi herself realised that he was testing her to see if she was trustworthy. The Crown prince’s’ sister also said that he is actually a very kind caring person unlike the rumours of him being cold. Soon after we see that he is a caring person with the way he treats his siblings and how he provided Jaeyi with somewhere to sleep and food.
The CP also realised she was being sincere about wanting to help him as well as help herself to clear her name and find out who killed her family and also who is taunting the CP. Obviously under a disguise he also realised she is famous for being a detective, which was proven as she solved the blood ink incident.

After that their relationship as friends/detectives is built from there and we can see that they now trust each other/ are comfortable with one another. Also the CP was very close to Jaeyis dad and is reminded of when they first met as children - which could bring back lots of old happy memories (nostalgia). For example him saying she hasn’t changed since they were children.

I know a lot of people keep saying the romance is rushed but I have to disagree all they’re doing is gazing at each other and then a few moments of butterflies. If eye contact and butterflies feels rushed at epsiode 5 then I’m confused.

Yeah I’ve been curious too. It’s also a mystery/investigation drama so it will only become more interesting
