8/10 because it hooked me even with the flaws. I am used to rushed endings. So it was okay or lets say just the same as usual. I did not like the writing of the FL that much. That drastically change seemed not logical. No one forgets the own good heart in that way she does. But that is way more after six episodes. And in some points she was unfair (oldfashion kdrama female writing) I nearly lost my empathy with her. Sure it is foreseeable here and there but has some surprises. The writing all in all did a good job with onion layer storytelling.
All in all I enjoyed it way too much. Critics at MDL. Why is the ending so easily to see in the pictures right when you open this site. Please change it. I opened it and when I was half through the drama I got to know that I already saw the ending openly spoiled here through pics.

When I started it two days ago I was confused. I saw the first episode and remembered all. So did I watch the entire drama and forgot about it? No! I came here to see and then I remembered how I started it and then read some comments feared it will be waste of time so I stopped after the first episode.
Don't read comments which are talking down an entire drama. I should stay with the rule of mine.
Yes it has some makjang in it, well I don't care since not every story/drama/series/movie has to be realistic to be enjoyable. I didn't give it a ten or nine but a solid 8,5. A few things went too far but they can be overlooked for the goal to get the bad. When you start you can sense instantly they don't plan to take it too seriously. And the pacing it fast so it is great to watch without draggy parts.
Another thing, have this in mind, don't come for Ren. The summary is only about the first two episodes. The entire story is about something else. It is not a typical dark serial killer drama.
The bad comments and down voting might be more about taste than quality. The acting is good. Storytelling as well with small matters which can be overseen.
I am glad I came back to this and funny fact I could enjoy it even after I saw "Moving", "The Kidnapping Day" and "A Daily Dose of Sunshine" before. Which are true gems.

Had the same feeling. unfair and self-centered, but it becomes better. She is lovely especially when they start dating. I had more the feeling the role doesn't fit Lee Je Hoon much. But maybe it was just me.

Rewatched it recently and now my question ... how can I give more than 10 stars.
It got me again. And I binged it within three and a half day, again. What an amazing drama.

A weird thing I've noticed lately. There might be some "fantasy/mystery" in a drama but somehow they show it the first episodes, then nothing, and at the end maybe again. What is a bit disappointing when you are coming for the fantasy elements. And many dramas do that. Wasting the potential. Feels like "clickbaits"
But this is a different case. Even when I started asking myself. Where are his supernatural powers suddenly, except one. The story stays strong. How all comes together and all are changing.
I gave a 9/10. The missing fantasy part and that the writer put all the strings together only the last episode. Especially the church story could have done earlier since it has nothing to do with the main story about the murderer.
But the human side is so good. Seeing their emotions. How they grow and change. I just loved it.
Lacking points aren't necessary a reason not to enjoy all other and giving a bad rating.
What makes the drama a bit boring at the beginning is the main character. It is hard to build up any positive feelings towards him. But somehow I felt he will change for good through this lovely young boy.

Remakes are done to fit a story to another culture of viewers even another morality can be the reason. I am not sure if we still need it in a globalized world. If the original would have been avaible on my Netflix I might have watched it but I did not and so I waited for the remake. I am absolutely believing all the fans of the original that this one lacks. Since I was thinking how to rate it 8 or 8,5 and endet up with the lower. Even without knowing the original which I for sure will catch up with in future I had the feeling something is missing. And somehow all were stiff not in the emotional scenes I always felt with them but more in general. I loved the good chemistry between the three friends. For me the suspense part was too much felt wrong in the story. And I love thriller more than love stories. So sth went wrong how they put it into the story. I will catch up with the original for sure one day. But I cannot watch the same story right after. So it will take a few months until I will be in the right mood. All in all I liked this but it will be fast forgotten I think. Overshadowed by other dramas which will come.

I don't even know what I expected reading the summary and why I pushed it four years ... later ... later ... later. It is a funny fact always when I fell into a "no mood for korean dramas" pit I fight it with just clicking on something on my list. Well and it worked again. What a fantastic story with such a deep meaning. The acting is just wow. Loving all, really all, characters at the end. Binged it within one and a half day. When the last episode brings all to light and has this wonderful ending. Goosebumps and tears here, but also a bright smile. A true gem.

Not enough story for sixteen episodes. So they filled the time somehow. Fantasy, yes a bit. All in all I liked it but it had draggy parts and the ending .....
I had more hopes for a 2021 drama with that cast. I was disappointing at one point. Why always the same same same ending.

Finally, the spotlight thief gets the full spotlight. Recently I watched 'Doom at your Service' and didn't drop for his so cliche but so good story. Even skipped the main couple a few times. I follow his works since 'What's Up' aired. Just give us more of his voice and deep charismatic looks. I really hope this will be a success.

Season three is coming and the original mountain god will be the villain. I am pretty sure it will turn out that way. That's why I didn't think about it as plot hole. They gave a tiny cliffhanger for this no big one. So the story will be finished with season three. And who knows what already was in season two to build up the story for the final season. I mean Yeon did not loose his way for now ;)

Her father works for the japanese and so he adjusted his daughters name to a japanese one. It was normal in that era when they became traitor to their own country. There will be a little moment which explains it somehow.

No and yes. They are doing a good job that you will understand the story without season one, but they don't explain about the brothers and main characters anymore. Which is important to understand the relationship of the brothers. No flashbacks to season one or their time at the mountain. Why Rang reacts towards Yeon when they meet in the first episode? Must be put together from your imagination then. It will be mention one time. Also what happens in the future and why Yeon looks after Rang that much. You will understand the key point, since it is mentioned, but not what happened in detail. I would recommend watching season one. But when there is something which bothers you about season one why you want to skip it you can give the second a go and see if it will work out without the deeper knowingness. The ML has no romance in season two. His was in season one. The romance tag is for another character.

I was curious about When Min Ki tells her that he can remember his lives as well he also says it is his 23rd. My feeling was Min Ki's first life was Ji Eums too. He was cursed so he had the same experience. Maybe he died four times more than Ji Eum. And for Ha Na. I think she was only reborn once. Met Min Ki and he explained all to her. She got her little revenge and made her peace with the previous life. But you are right they should have spend 15minutes for a short explanation.

Oh yes I had the same thoughts. Even when Seo Ha helped her for sure. The ending has so big holes and no logic at all. And well I am so tired of "let part them in the last episode so the last minute will be more romantic" endings. I rolled my eyes in the moment Min Ki mentioned the memory loss. Yes now she will tell all good bye and then they meet again. All pressed into 60tie minutes and rushed. I know, I know. I use to skip much in those typical last episodes.
Why had Ae Kyung the surgery when she will be healed after Ji Eums decision? Even all around that not logical. It was a mess.
And then they are messing even more up with all what you are describing. No logic. If I ever rewatch I would stop earlier and take that as happy end dot.
I also did not understand why they gave so many hints that Do Yoon remembers his lives too. I thought for a while that is the real reason why he pushed Cho Won away.

But still I think it is a good 9/10 since they broke away from nearly all drama cliches. Did not focus on the workplace fight. Or had too bad people. They were realistic. And I loved the turn with the father. Why didn't they use this writing skills for the ending, too? I was surprised and dissapointed. Dramaland and messy endings a never ending story.

Had so much fun. I cannot even say how much I wish for more of this amazing team. Why did I push it for so long ... WHY, :)

Watching Kdramas since twenty years I know about writers giving homage to what they loved in their youth. This time it is Back to the Future. With which I grew up as well and deeply love it. So I needed four starts of the first episode to finally just let it run and well ... car as time machine, meeting parents as teens, sticking in the past ... and dot. The rest is so very different to the old movies. Who does not stop comparing forgot how the story were.
The romance tag is totally wrong in this. I have the "wild guess" something we don't know about happend behind the scenes. For me it looked like the management or the actor/actress said: No kiss. And yes the chemistry is missing. Why did they put it into the last episodes?
Maybe korean viewers complained. I saw it many times that they changed sth out of the blue after people made a fuss online. You need to know such things to understand better why Kdramas sometimes having weird changes. I remember when they complained about a thriller drama when they did not know who the killer is after three episodes. The writer had to make it more obviously then. It was the moment I remembered they are making the dramas for Koreans not for international viewers. An eyeopener when I read that Koreans don't like to be in the dark too long. (It changed in the last years!).
Since then I often give it a go when something seems to be messy.
So maybe somehow a romance was wished and they had t press it somehow into the script. It felt like that. So I overlooked it.

My true critic points are some holes. Why changed some pictures after they changed the past but some not. The book in the future and that one interview hinted a female killer. I think it was planned like that but they switched in between. So it was not mentioned anymore.
The actor of the killer (no spoiler so i won't say which) was horrible. Especially in the emotional moment near the end. His acting was so cringe.

I think the main problem seemed to be that the writer had to change the script. All in all it looked like a great script at first but sth happened in the back around episode 10 . The changes are too weird to be from the writer who did a good job in the first half of the drama. No one looses the writing skills out of blue. And well in 20 years of Kdramas I saw it way too many times, sadly.

If you can live without a magical romance, give it a go. I binged it in three days.

Loved the second half of the last episode in so many ways. Loved the couple which is realistic without hiding stupidly stuff from each other. Don't think of it as a slow burn. They like each other from the more or less beginning. Some twists were unnecessary. Would have like it more if it hadn't the one crime twist. Altough I love thriller and crime. Here it seemed to disturb the story. Last "good bye" was not needed as well. I clicked over it. So I had my "good" tears when all is explained. Who saw it will know what I am mean. Recommended, watch it. Might be very different to what you think it will be reading the summary. I was very positively surprised.

I love thriller to a point it does feel wrong. But I dropped this. Despite the acting and amazing camera work and settings I was so bored in so many ways I lost my interest to see how it will end. Still 7 for the acting especially JGS who got finally the chance to show his skills in another way than usual. Still remember how impressive he was in "The Case of Itaewon Homicide". Just hoping I will like his next drama more.
And before someone assumes it is the calm and slow storytelling which I did not like: "Through the Darkness" is my favorite korean thriller drama (atm). I actually love that style a lot.

Felt like they wanted to make a persiflage of famous Hollywood movies. And I enjoyed that a lot. Surrounded by a modern Indiana Jones theme. Ironman costume. Batman idea of the hidden place. Spiderman or Superman since he is such a clumsy when he is not in his costume.
As lover of all these light Hollywood movies I enjoyed this so much. It does not take itself too serious. Does not have the goal of being realistic, why should it as comedy anyway. It might not be the best to rewatch but it is enjoyable for one watch. Had much fun.

Why can't it one time, only one time, be that the good are always a step ahead while the villain thinks he or she is. I often say "If I would write such a story. I would make the good smarter without any setbacks." Thank to this drama I had this one time feeling finally. Fresh and not with the typical cliches. 8 of 10 from me because the slight problems in the second half cannot be overlooked entirely. But still ... give it a try if you need some light stuff.

When they announced it I thought it will be just another remake of the successful original German series "Danni Lowinski". So I wasn't tempted to watch until "Taxi Driver 2". The special appearance, even when short, made me curious. Don't even know why. So except of the low costs, where the office is and that he fights for the poor and powerless well and the comedy it has nothing from the origin so it is not a remake. But only based on the origin idea.
Loved it. Even when it falls apart a bit after Ml's behind story. Like ... shall we concentrate on that now, well lets give him another comedy case first, which totally takes you out of the emotions. They are surely rushing at in the end. But somehow I liked it. Other revenge dramas give them setback over setback what feels boring to me ... put the rest in a spoiler.
