I really love the book, but I feel like this is going to be nothing like the book. They will have to change the character that Jade thinks Mai likes because it can't be Uea now. It's not going to have the same Jade, Uea, King friendship dynamic that was in the book. The introduction scene for Mai is already different. They seem to have changed Jade's character completely from the book to make him a younger more playful/silly/cute character. I liked him in the book. He was older and was friendly to everyone, but definitely not cutesy. He was witty and swore a lot. I'm just not sure how it is going to work and I'm worried because I really do love the story.
