Never visit forests with lots of figurine statues!
I don't know why I started watching this at this hour, it's literally midnight and I'm scared to go to bathroom now! When I started watching this I had very little faith in what I was about to watch. Cause the rating was relatively low for a mystery horror genre but I was being whimsical to watch "something new today" and Hoon Payon surprisingly turned out to be much better than I expected.
At the beginning things feel a bit all over the place. I was feeling distant with the plot cause they were introducing more characters and yet things were getting more obscure and complicated as I was losing interest. But, but after the second half things were started to improve and unfolding mysteries slowly. I just couldn't take my eyes away from the screen. Felt like if I blink I might miss something. And I was not disappointed at all! AND THE PLOT TWIST IS JUST AMAZING!
Hoon Pa Yong is meant as a spiritual bodyguard to guard your asset from theft, and to protect you from the harm of black magic and evil spirits. You basically know what you're about to watch and rest just people being selfish, secretive and scornful. So the film is all about curse, ghosted monks, and JUMP SCARES⁹⁹⁹⁹!!! I'm 3 mins in and I'm seeing a sharp object injected into eyes >_< and poking into skin until blood comes out...I can't explain you enough how much I hate these! JUST. NO. In those scenes I just covered my eyes and peeked through two fingers. Superstitions are made by human for human to scare the shit out of you.
Now coming to the characters, they were not perfect but they did their best. This is my first time watching Phuwin, he was so-so. But Up, ouuufff he just nailed it! I've watched all of his series and now this movie, I can say this is his best work!
Most importantly the cinematography was just awesome. The cinematographer skillfully selected each and every object to give you that eerie chilling vibe. At first glance it looks calm and tranquil but soon you start fearing the atmosphere. It's just aesthetically scary all over.
Overall if you're looking for something quick horror mystry pill to spike up your adrenaline then it's a good watch. But remember, watch this at night for best results ;>
When cheating was justified. Meh.
What a bummer!Blue boys pt 2 started with me forgetting what happened in pt 1 and was too lazy to figure out so I continued watching it. That's how this storyline is, vague, forgetful and mediocre.
First of all that rude female colleague So Ri was pain in the as* then there's another siren Tae Ha. I'm glad they maintained the equality between male and female being a "bi*chy" character 🤡🚩
Justifying and neutralizing cheating was a big turn off for me. Yes it is forgiveable but if it happened with a hetero couple would it be able to put same pov like this BL? No. Maybe they're fine for now, who knows what's going to happen with them in future...I won't be there to watch anyway. Go to hell.
Being perfect with flaws is what makes the difference!
"It's easier to give up when it hurts, to leave when it gets tiring. But what you really need, is patience. If you only held on you would still learn those things."This is me finishing the last movie of KathlNiel with puffy eyes and heavy heart. And if you ask, "how's it?" I would say, you need to watch this yourself to feel the emotions I felt.
It might be cliche to some but someone out there will still enjoy this movie as it is.
This is literally a break-up story of young lovers Primo & George, who went through ups and downs in life just to realise they belonged together forever. But their realisation was not easy as they ended their relationship in bad terms. The believe they had in eachother started fading with the each year and oneday the feelings outbursted, they were left scarred for life.
KathlNiel's acting once again was undoubtedly brilliant. You can not tell if they're acting or just being themselves. As they we know they were a real couple (currently they're not anymore) which really helped them to intensify their chemistry. The emotions were portrayed unfiltered, real and raw, so that you can put yourself in their place and judge the situation.
Now the only problem I have is, I expected it to be an open ending or a sad ending than a happy ending because that would give proper justice to FL and what she's been through. ML is not a jerk but still he left her when she needed him the most. I believe breaking up once shows how fragile that relationship is. It doesn't matter how many times you try to put it back together, the crack will be still there poking the old wounds.
But regardless of all the shortcomings I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to all the happy ending loving romanticists. Make sure to have enough tissues.
Don't romanticise the abuse, if it comes back to you, will you be able to handle that?
Before watching this movie you should be aware of the tags, which are enough to trigger your senses. And here I am sitting completely shocked. I don't know how should I explain my feelings, whom should I sympathize with, where did it start to go wrong. Only Japan can produce something raw like this to make you believe the unbelievable. If you want to know how Stockholm Syndrome look like, then this is the perfect example of one. The traumatic events that teenage boy, Moto has to go through just "to keep himself safe" is beyond horrible and disgusting. He tolerated his trauma and came to fond of it. Moto wanted to trust and believe Sala but she's a horrible adult to begin with. She exploited the innocent and when she acts indifference of the situation made my blood boil with anger and frustration. I had to check the age of boy current and at that time just to ensure my heart he wasn't a minor. I wanted to question her "how do you like it when the things you did to others, is done to you?" Then I found myself guilty for feeling that way. Idk whom should I apologise to.
But why would you watch it -
• chilling realistic acting
• to come out of your comfort zone and understand there's someone out there doing and going through these same things. Just to be aware of these wicked humans.
• there's always that grey area of our mind which needs to fed with ugly reality once in a while to realise how grateful we should be for our safe place.
Why you shouldn't -
• if you are sensitive of "these" triggers. Just check out tags, you'll know why.
• if you can't differentiate reel and real life (I know I'm contradicting my own point but you need to realise not all situations are same, not every person behaves the same way. Things can be more or less brutal in real life and this is just a dramatisation of a fictional characters)
My rating: 7/10, I can't explain it enough how realistic their acting was to make me punch them in the face at the moment.
A glimpse of a couple's not-so-perfect love and their perfect breakup story
I started this film because I loved Carlo Aquino's acting in "Isa Pa With Feelings" and YouTube recommended me this, so why not! As I love contemporary stories filled with angst, quarrel, love, tears and realistic approach to life, this movie just fits well in the catagory. In the beginning I wasn't sure whether to keep watching this or not but I did eventually and I don't regret that. To me the character Pia was not relatable at all but yes I came across people like her so I started putting her into a "mould" and was in favour with Nix. But from the mid of the movie my heart started to empathize with Pia and her character was so prominent and strong that she just won me over. She one independent, liberal, an honest person who loves with all her heart, mind and soul. On the other hand Nix is a simple, sweet, and caring person. He doesn't understand the complexity of character, just accepts as they are, which was his biggest issue. He's scared to love again because he still dwells on his past. When these two people met and fell in love, the insecurities got the best out of them. Going back and forth between the present and past made them forget about the future of their relationship.
What I liked about this movie was how realistic these two characters were. Like I felt I was peeking out of my balcony and watching daily life of these two on the opposite appartment. Their chemistry was out of the world. I swear the snuggle Nix gave to Pia was the most lovely and warmest ever!!! I could feel the warmth of the relationship from the screen. They both tried their hardest to cope up with their insecurities and move on but probably the honesty and sincerity wasn't enough to retain the the weightage of their love.
You're hearing, I'm deaf. We're different... Then I'll be deaf for you.
This is truly a wonderful movie!I waited so long to watch this as it was not available for the international audience until two weeks ago when they released it on YouTube.
From the beginning to till the end you are going to feel a lot of things that you have never felt before. Because if I be honest I would say we, who can both hear and talk can never truly feel what a deaf/mute/ mute & deaf person really feels. We can try to understand but its far from being felt like one. The mature people can decode the silence but when that silence becomes your life then it's hard to understand spoken words. Which is why this film excels in portraying the message clear and loud. They made you feel those complicated emotions with silence and stares.
Now the most important thing that holds everything together is the leads acting and their insane chemistry. Oh my my I could feel the love from the screen! From hesitant gaze to slow stare I fell in love with the characters. Their chemistry was chemistring >.<
The OSTs and the music just hits the spot! I can definitely listen to them all day. They're so melodious and meaningful. From the trailer it's the first thing that made me want to watch the movie.
This movie is highly recommended if you want to let go of stress and those pent up emotions, then this is for you. It has fluff, a bit comedy, romance and a door to the wall of silence.
After finishing the movie now I can understand why is it named "One More Time. With Feelings"!
What is being motherly or fatherly feel, when the roles are reversed!
I started this drama just out of curiosity. But never expected it to leave a unimaginable message to the world. It's new, fresh and endearing journey of a man being a parent and his environment to his acceptance. If you feel grossed about the idea of a man being pregnant, then definitely you should watch this. The story is not perfect but VERY realistic in the sense of humanity. It's a lifetime visual experience in this world where prejudice prevails and we let it happen intentionally. FYI- in this drama he's neither gay nor a transgender. Rest is upto your curiosity (˘ᵕ˘)
A Must watch!
I'll still be questioning myself if he's the mother or father of the child by definition. Amazing!
She's an enigma, she finds it difficult to understand.
Enigma= Dope series! 🔥Win's appearance made this more enchanting and mesmerizing. Oth Prim is definitely one of the brightest actor of GMMTV! She's small in appearance but her presence was vividly trenchant. I'm rooting for her future.
Before this series I had very little idea of Win's capability of acting because Together series didn't met my expectations, but But after Enigma I became a fan of Win.
Just because it was a 4 episode series that doesn't mean it lack depth, they gave depth and purpose of the characters just the right amount. The visual, the suspence, the noir vibe made this series exceptionally remarkable and outstanding which will leave you wanting more.
Each memory has a soundtrack of its own. It takes 1 song to bring back 1000 of memories.
First love hatsukoi is a poem that you can read over and over again but still won't get bored. A love story full of heart breaks, mistakes and tragic turns.I watched it in the past and now I came here again after rewatching this, made me realise that how many times I watch this, I'll cry the same. This story makes you feel nostalgic, happy and sad all at once.
Actors did their job very well. Music is good. Overall quite overwhelming. Cinematography was beautiful. Found a extremely delicious looking dish Napolitan, I have to make that for sure!
P.S.- Don't forget to bring tissues. You'll need that.
"You know Jonathan, if you add your marks with mine, we make a perfect 100!" said Shane
What a lovely movie!I started watching this very randomly because I was bored and outside it was gloomy dark weather, somehow I ended up watching this movie. It's hard to explain in words how beautiful the whole story, cast, the acting and the cinematography was. It's an unspoken feeling that will linger on your mind for couple of days.
Teenage love is hard, beautiful and full of inexperienced unknown emotions which wa portrayed that pragmatically as possible. Love and friendship intertwined and presented longing, belonging and finally founding peace with one's own mind, which is the most exhausting journey in the world. Shane is longing for a lifelong friendship from Jonathan and he is bottling up his love for Shane.
What I loved about this movie is that they will not show you your pre-assumed happy ending but something more than that. The background music is very soothing, it just blends into the theme so well that it creates a nostalgic earthy aura around it.
Highly recommendable and it's better to watch it alone, so that you can feel the characters like I did.
But one spoiler, don't expect "happy ending". It's not your normal fluffy BL but a LGBTQ themed queer awakening movie.
Who is she?
"Truth is like light that binds us. Lies are like a beautiful sunset that makes everything look incredible. That is until you get caught."The Art of Sarah is a drama where truth hides behind a carefully painted mask.
Sarah Kim, an elegant businesswoman who dreams of ruling the high-end bags in the name of "Boudoir". No one truly knows her real identity, and that mystery becomes the beating heart of the series. Sarah didn't simply exist in the luxury world— she came here to dominate it. With poised smiles and calculating eyes, she moved through elite circles like a queen on a chessboard, always ten steps ahead of everyone. Watching her was truly hypnotic. Is she a genius? A survivor? A master manipulator? The drama thrives on never giving us a clear answer. Shin Hye Sun, the woman, the brilliant artist you are!
On the other hand, Park Mu Gyeong, the police officer who's determined to uncover the truth, is calm, intelligent, and morally grounded. He served as the perfect contrast to Sarah’s ambiguity. Their dynamic was electric — not loud, but simmering yet elegant! Their confrontation was filled with tension you can almost taste with your eyes. He seeks justice, she protects her secrets and between them lies a dangerous game of cat and mouse!
The cinematography of the drama is stunning. The luxurious settings, beautifully crafted bags and intense close-ups amplify the suspense and emotional weight. Just like any other Netflix originals, it reeks of money and glamour.
>>However, the series isn’t without flaws.
The pacing slows down in the middle episodes, stretching certain conflicts longer than necessary. Supporting characters felt underwritten as like existing more to serve Sarah’s mystery than to stand on their own. While her cold brilliance was captivating, the drama occasionally withholds too much emotional vulnerability, making it harder to fully connect with her on a deeper level. And don't get me started on the poor quality of the investigation process. It was hasty, sloppy and laughable, which ultimately makes you question "what kind of police officer are they?" More importantly, "why?" Even if we know the question still lingers, left unanswered.
Overall, it’s a thriller that will leave you questioning every smile and every truth she speaks. Despite its imperfections, the drama remained gripping and stylish on its own. An almost con story which was hard to put down till the end. Perfect bingeworthy drama!
How to live a movie when you know your time is bound and ephemeral?
I'm writing this review with a wounded heart, choked voice and heavy eyelids. Basically, I'm numb.Words are not enough to express how I felt about this drama. This made me go through pain, little by little in every episode and, by the end of it, it just left me in a puddle. Sudden departure makes you traumatized, but when you live episode of this, you just don't have anything left inside to feel anything. It's like my brain is rationally working normal, but it has these constant dark clouds looming over my senses that won't go.
All I want to say is that if you are hesitant about whether to watch it or not, and probably putting it off because of its expected outcome, then I'd say watch it to feel the feelings you have. Even if it makes you sad, let's cry. Even though it's for a fictional character, we have masked ourselves enough in real life as untouchable tough humans anyway. No one's going to know. Keep your emotions real, atleast to yourselves.
As Daeum said, I agree that this drama is really like that favorite book you don't want it to finish. You count pages and slow down so that it lasts longer. For the longest time, I'll remember MiMi, the ost. It owns my heart.
Obviously, I recommend this to those people out there who are brave enough to be vulnerable and willing to surrender their hearts to be broken, like a SE masochist!
Love, lust, and disastrous disappointment.
The storyline is simple: two gunman brothers, Bison and Fadel, were conned by a tattoo artist, Kan, who's working with the police in exchange to clear off his own crime records. In terms of getting information from both of them, Kan involved his best friend Style without giving any information above the background of the brothers. They make the brothers fall in love, then plan to flee, but a problem arises when fake love turns into real love and then to betrayal.Things I liked:
-Khaotung as Bison, where do I start? This man never disappointed me when it came to showing versatility in acting. He's like a fluid who changes himself drastically as his character needs him to be. Here I was amazed to see his crazy, loving, and vulnerable side. He portrayed those intricate emotions beautifully.
- Joong as Fadel, this is my first time watching him in the show, and trust me, he won my heart! Maaann, HE ATE THIS ROLE! His character is older Bison, but in real life he's younger than Khaotung, but you will never realize how brilliantly he portrayed a stoic, emotionless yet caring older brother. He's such a good actor! I'm eager to see him in the next project.
- Style's father! Can we collectively agree that the best father of GMMTV goes to him? I mean, I haven't seen a supportive father character like this.
- We are used to watching JJ in comic roles without any romantic partners, but he and Pepper, as a couple, just surprised me! I wish GMMTV saw his potential, and please give this man a partner other than his twin brother; he's been single on screen for too long... Haha!
-One thing that kept me going that was Bison-Fadel and their brotherhood. Precious!
Things I didn't like:
- Honestly, I chose to watch the series because I trust in the FirstKhao duo, and I love their onscreen chemistry. But this series really disappointed me. In my opinion, First, Kant really didn't fit him. His tattoos were too fake and amateurish. First had potential to be great but didn't appeal to me at all. It was such a letdown.
- I'm not comfortable to say, but the characters were too horny for me to like this. I know sex sells, but too much really downgrades the overall quality of the show. The BDSM scenes were very uncomfortable to watch and poorly played. I believe if they wanted, they could have made it more natural. I needed a solid story with romance, but all I got was soft porn with a mediocre story.
- I didn't like the fact Dunk's character, Style, was too sexualized. I know that's his character, but think of it this way: if it was a girl, how much backlash would it get for that? And overall, Dunk needs to attend some acting classes and work on his facial expressions. I definitely liked his sassy side, but that's all. Personally, offscreen, I love his goofy, funny side and deep voice, but I need to see his best acting, as unfortunately it was not.
-Not to mention how many plot holes it has. After all those disappointing romantic scenes, I was waiting to get my most awaited angst moment of betrayal, but again it disappointed me. How come your betrayal didn't even last an episode? They made up too fast for me to realize how big the betrayal was. After some time, I decided to shut down my brain and finish it for the sake of my damn curiosity about how they would end.
Overall, it was kind of disappointing, and I had my favorite moments from it, but not enough to be a memorable one.
Mindlessly Funny With No Cliffhangers!!!
THIS story is a pure mess with lots of flaws but I still watch it.WHY?
because I would rather watch something stupid and funny than CRINGY romance. you don't have to feel guilty watching cringy storylines just because you like the ML or FL. it's mindlessly funny and full of chaos with no cliffhangers 😹😹😹
the characters are VERY bad at dancing that's what makes it more funny. and stripping skills? undoubtedly hilarious. they tried but I'm sorry they're actors not dancers 😹
if you are tired don't want to pain your brain just watch this, your brain will come back to it's initial stage lol 😹
Good luck!
Web of lies that will question your faith in friendship
Every. Single. Character. Is. Insanely. Well. written. 💯At this point I'm questioning my faith in Meen. Cuz I think she's not so innocent as she seems. There might be something... and I can't wait for it to reveal.
This is the series where you question everything, their personality, their friendship, people around them, every single person is suspicious and holding secrets of one another.
This is one of the gems of GMMTV along with FRIENDZONE the series.
I FREAKING LOVE IT!
