To like or not to like is a matter of taste, so there is nothing to complain about. However, I don't think the age difference is such a big issue. I know several couples who have such a gap. As long as everyone agrees.
I'm not sure what to think about Built. But it's the second time that he has fallen into this kind of scandal in a very short time. Even if we shouldn't jump to conclusions, it's hard not to doubt him right now. Personally, it's Bible that I like so I hope this story won't hurt him too much.
almost dropped this after they killed the cat in episode 6. you tell me to become '' stronger '' you need to kill…
The story is complicated enough that it becomes difficult to understand if you fast forward. I love cats, but here it is only a detail. This series should be avoided if you have difficulty with violence because it is very important for the depth of the story. It's inherent in this kind of thriller. There is a whole psychological journey behind most of the actions of the characters. They are all tortured by their past. However, not all of us can be sensitive to this kind of thing.
This series is neither bad nor good. Only the ending really stands out. We may not like it, and yet it is the most successful part. It looks like the real beginning of the story. One that would be built on good foundations.
The morality isn't bad either, although it was difficult to convey everything in 10 15-minute episodes. The message they probably wanted to convey is that sometimes you have to know how to let go. Only then can we succeed in moving forward.
I think we can therefore say that there was potential but not enough budget.
But also King of Pigs is one of the most painful series I've ever seen. But also one of the best.
So, unfortunately, I never read the book. However, the story does indeed speak of a problem related to today's society. It is also a question of social class, of the difference between people, of the weak against the strong. The painful part of the story is strongly linked to school bullying and the impact it has on adult life thereafter. It's hard to say more without revealing the plot. When the story begins we more or less expect a thriller where the policeman must stop the killer, but ultimately it's much more than that. Much more than just painful, sad and ugly. For me, this series is a blow to the heart and to the soul. It is extremely well done and the emotion created is extremely strong. I think it's a story that is absolutely wonderful in all its cruelty and harshness. A big must watch.
I'm currently on episode 5 and I'm a little pissed because I think I spoiled myself about the ending. I went to see the ost of the series where a comment quoted a dialogue. These lines simply said something like "he was never the killer, it was always me". The problem is that I suspect Jung Ba Reum to be the master of the game since the scene where he met Han Seo Jun's gaze in episode 2. Not to mention that Han Seo Jun himself seemed to say that only two psychopaths were able to recognize each other with a single look. Then this look exchanged with Sung Yo Han... We know since the first episode that there are supposed to be 2 killers. Not to mention that their two stories seem to be intertwined from the start. Although the scenes from the past are suggested to be from the perspective of Han Seo Jun's son, we realize that the story told by the voiceover may also correspond to Jung Ba Reum's past. Like the absence of parents for example. It's not the only exemple but it's the only one I remember as I write this review. Afterwards, the good thing if I'm wrong is that I'll be really surprised at the end :)
I'm on episode 14 and I have to admit that I have some respect for Yoo Jung Seok. He systematically confronts problems head-on and does not try to hide behind someone else. He traces his path and knocks down the obstacles one after the other, with a coldness and a kind of quiet strength. I don't approve of his actions, but he's still an interesting villain.
Above all, it is true that it is a particularly difficult kdrama to watch. I had to take it upon myself from start…
But what I particularly liked here was the way the story unfolded. At first, we expect a classic thriller where the killer is crazy and he absolutely has to be stopped. The policeman seems to be good and really invested in what he does. Then the story unfolds gradually in front of our eyes, and its horror strikes us. It is obvious from the start that the killer must be arrested, but we come to hope that he drags the policeman down with him. This injustice is not without reminding me of one of the films that I have hated the most in my entire life: Mystic River. Although extremely violent, this series is absolutely fantastic.
Above all, it is true that it is a particularly difficult kdrama to watch. I had to take it upon myself from start to finish. It's hard to see all this pain and to think that, to some extent, it's real. And it's even worse to be helpless.
However, not all of us can be sensitive to this kind of thing.
