for me the fact this turned into just a violent fight drama did not even make sense with the first half given…
I think the idea of the series is not to solve conflicts in an intelligent way. Especially since in reality, school harassment is rarely settled peacefully. I know this because when my little brother was bullied at school, no one could help. Not even the teachers or the police. He had to find a way himself to set limits. Also, the purpose of the story is to show how violence can lead to more violence. The serie just puts forward that ultimately, a human is nothing more than a beast with a civilized facade.
can you compare the sadness and pain to some other dramas so i know what feelings to prepare for
It's not a sad ending. Even if it's really sad, it's not the central element of the story and they don't try to make it more tearful than necessary. For example, it's really not as sad sad or difficult to watch as The King of Pigs. From my point of view, D.P was sadder. It's brutal without being completely dramatic.
I read that some certain scenes in this series were really sad. But I just finished The King of Pigs, so I guess nothing can hurt me anymore lol. As long as it's a happy ending, i'm okay with it.
I'm on epsode 5 and I can already see the problem with Beom Seok. It is certain that school bullying leaves scars. Except he's not just traumatized. He becomes worse than those who hurt him. I say that because he is unable to stand up to anyone in normal times but does not hesitate to attack someone weaker than him and is consumed by jealousy.
He's not just damaged. He is a character who is really weak, in every sense of the word. Weak in character, weak mentally, weak physically.
Of course his upbringing made him that way. However, he persists in systematically making the worst possible choices and constantly exceeds the limits.
I see a lot of comments saying that Han JiWoo's reactions are disproportionate and we never know the reason why he left without ever saying anything. So I think the reason is ultimately quite simple: he is sorely and atrociously lacking in self-confidence. He prefers to put an end, himself, to something that could destroy the little esteem he still has left.
And it's finally a completely logical reaction to which I completely identify. It's extremely difficult to slip into the head of someone who thinks about himself that he has such little value. He was rejected again and again. What happened was the logical next step. Seo Joon's fame only made him worse, even though it was never SeoJoon's fault.
He was just afraid of being abandoned again. And if you think it's easy to think rationally in this kind of situation, you're wrong. It's extremely difficult to let anyone get close to you when you yourself are incapable of seeing your own worth.
He needed someone as confident as SeoJoon to prove to him that he was ultimately valuable.
I'm on episode 10 and I'm having a hard time continuing the series. I find it boring. Also, the characters exasperate me. Rain and Sky still have a sulky look that's supposed to be cute, along with their too-innocent-to-be-true look. Phayu and Prapai still have that exasperated yet understanding smile on their lips. As if the ridiculous behavior of the person they love is the most normal and cute thing in the world. "Let's be indulgent, they are so cute. The man must pamper his companion. We are in charge."
I'm on ep 3, tell me is he gonna be better? I don't like this kind of character most of the time. I end up skipping…
If you're talking about earth, I don't think it's going to get any better. He's the reason I haven't started the show yet. He always plays weak characters, difficult to bear for some people. And it's a shame because I really like Santa and I would have liked to see him in a series without Earth.
Also, I don't want to offend anyone. I understand those who love him. But I can't.
Aahh!!! I love how you describe the shooting scene!! That was beautifully describe! ♥️ Whatever relationship…
It's a bit like Han JooWon saying to him, "I leave it up to you, but please let me suffer for you just this once." That's how I see this scene. And Lee DongShik finally agrees to let it go.
I'm on episode 13 and I have to admit that I quite like Cheol Bum, even though he's supposed to be mean. It would be cool if he ended up switching sides.
There is something that I don't understand so if someone can help me. In the show, they keep saying that Kim Hae Il is a priest. However, he wears the uniform of a pastor found among Protestants. So I was wondering if it was a translation problem or if it's really me who sucks in religion? (This may be the case since I admit that I am not really a believer and even less a practitioner.)
I just finished and I must admit that I really love it. Contrary to what I said in my previous comment, I really loved the character of Ha Kyung. She's been really fantastic throughout the series. Plus, there's something really endearing about the interactions she has with Chief Kim. Their last scene together was really beautiful and hard to watch at the same time. I think that's the scene that provokes the most emotions. As for Chef Kim, that's also something. He always gives the impression of acting on a whim, but in the end every action has been thought out. Apart from Seo Yool, there aren't many people who can stand up to him. Finally, Seo Yool will have been pushed to his limits by Kim, and that's what will save him in the end. It is also a monster of intelligence and I loved watching them bickering constantly. I have a special thought for Myung Seok who just needed someone to guide him. He really started to blossom when he worked with Kim. And I would have liked to see how it would evolve.
All the other characters are absolutely great and there's really nothing to throw away from this great series. It's going to be hard to move on.

However, actors are pretty good.
