Here's my theory of why Pran is tight lipped about his feelings: In actuality, it's not about winning or loosing for Pran either. We've seen him in love with Pat for years but it's just that he couldn't express or say it out loud for the obvious reason - HIS WITCH MOM. Even before Pat's confession, Pran who was so guarded before started showing how he loves Pat (Cooking food for him, Taking his doll to his house on his request, Making a heart with that cotton swab). Also, in the last scene, had Pa not shouted it was Pran who was ready to kiss Pat first. Even now, Pran is deep down fearful about his mom knowing about their "relationship" and he can see what might happen in that worst case scenario. It's like he doesn't want to jinx what he has with Pat. From the spoiler that I came across yesterday, I assume when Pran finally confess his love for Pat in the mountain roof (You can see in the secret ost MV how Pran was shouting in the rooftop looking at Pat) that's when Pran's mom is going to witness it and Pran is going to get slapped hard for it 😭💔 It has happened whenever Pran wanted to bare his feelings for Pat. He wrote "Just friends?" song for Pat in his school days and when he was singing it looking at Pat that's when his mom walked in and we all know what happened next. So, I can clearly see where Pran's fear is coming from.
