I agree about the third timeline. The plot is too overdone and boring. The only reason I made it through was because…
I agree! It became too predictable at that point, and they didn't utilize the time-slip factor effectively. Literally, she could have used her power to stop time whenever the killer appeared and gotten him caught, but no, her only go-to solution was pushing Sun jae away. Also, it's beyond me how she could reveal she's from the future without stopping time first.
I absolutely agree with you. Iโd rather see my favourite actor in a good supporting role in a quality drama…
That's why I'm asking you to name anyone other than Bailu and CDL who has been criticized by Lsfs. Even when it comes to Bailu and CDL, criticism from lsfs is usually done in retaliation, because it's often their fandoms that have slandered and discredited him. Meanwhile, I've noticed that most Lsfs take the high road and ignore the negativity.

"His fans won't let others shine" It might be some fans wishful thinking but I don't think anyone let alone fans have the power to not let others shine. And SLY is a project that's been solely made with him as main character in mind. Obviously the main character is going to take most of the screentime as it should. Other characters will have their own space but the story obviously centers around him. I don't get how it's going to suppress others.

Please name the 'others' except Bailu and CDL. Even with these two, I don't see many lsfs going out of their way to criticize them. Only shippers criticize his other co-stars who aren't Bailu. When it comes to Bailu, lsfs react only when her fandom or shippers distort facts to push their delusions. You generalized by saying lsfs despise all his female leads.
I absolutely agree with you. Iโd rather see my favourite actor in a good supporting role in a quality drama…
Demanding 95% screen time doesn't equate to not wanting anyone else on screen. It's simply asking for his deserved screen space, as it's his first big main lead project. We've had enough of unfair treatment when it comes to his screen time in his own dramas in the past. That doesn't mean we want others to not shine. Everyone can shine in their own right with their skills.

Regarding the demand for 95% of screen time, we're all aware of what happened in FYH, where his screen time was reduced in his own show to accommodate the supporting characters. Main leads are leads for a reason: the story mainly centers around them. Supporting characters shouldn't be given space at the expense of the main lead's story.

Just because his fans are wary of that one co-star of his, which is also a defense against all the slander and disrespect they've put him through, doesn't mean his fans despise all his co-stars, which is what you were referring to in your original comment. If anything, that particular section of shippers is the one that disrespects his other female leads.

Precisely! Fans will naturally support their biases, which is fine as long as they're respectful towards the other cast members. Every fandom has its share of crazy and toxic fans, and there's no denying that. However, making generalized statements about LYX fans not wanting others to shine or despising his co-stars is totally uncalled for. I know many fans are wary of a few of his co-stars, mainly due to the off-screen drama and negativity created by those co-stars fandoms and agencies. Otherwise, all his co-stars, whether male or female, are equally respected.
SLY has always been marketed as a big ML project. While it's true that there are characters and dynamics, it's a fact that LYX is the only lead in the show, with the others being supporting characters. Being a supporting character is not something to be ashamed of, and they can still showcase their skills and shine in their roles.
However, I don't want people to be misled into thinking that SLY is a romance-centric show. There are a few successful big ML shows like JoL and MLC where there is only one main character.
I wish people would tone down their arguments that LYX's fans want to suppress the shine of other characters or that they always despise his female leads. These claims are unfounded and unfair.
I finally completed the show after putting it on hold for almost a year. The first eight episodes were solid and engaging, especially the time-slip aspect. However, things started to spiral downward for me once the third timeline began.
Let's start with the positives. Ryu Sun jae, played by Byun Woo seok, was a standout character. I'm not usually drawn to clingy, lovelorn characters, but Sun-jae's devotion to Sol gave me butterflies. He's one of the main reasons I stayed with the show until the end. Among the four timelines, the second one was my favorite, followed closely by the first. In the first timeline, Sol's transformation into Sun jae's fan was believable and relatable. However, I wish they had provided more backstory on why Sun jae fell for her (I'm not a fan of love at first sight). Additionally, Sun jae's death in the first timeline remained a mystery. In the second timeline, Sun jae's falling for Sol became more believable, given their increased interactions. I still wish they had explored more of Sun jae's struggles with withdrawing from swimming and his moments with past Sol. Among the side characters, I enjoyed Baek In hyeok and Sun jae's father the most. Tae sung had potential, but his character was reduced to another lovesick person pining for Sol. Honestly, I think the show could have done without the love triangle. The third timeline was where the show lost me. It had too many plot holes, and I struggled to make sense of it. Sol's time travel to their college days was confusing, and I didn't understand why she could reveal her true identity without consequences. Kim Hye yoon's acting didn't impress me as much as it did in her previous shows. I couldn't feel the romantic love of Sol for Sun jae, and her emotional moments felt forced.
Overall, the show was an easy watch, but I wish they had utilized the time-slip element more effectively.
