The episode I dreaded the most to rewatch πTTJ has lost his hope of living. I see how two lovers are dealing…
Yes, his looks has always been distracting me that I sometime miss out the dialogues and occurrences of the scenes and had to always rewind them to understand lol.
YQY has always been a warrior who has always witnessed people losing their lives for the country. While TTJ is a whole different case. That poor thing was cursed to the point that YXW coming into his life was nothing less than a miracle. He has lost his only hope at living. He loved YXW to the point he was ready to overlook her betrayal (poisoning him Atleast in his perspective). Their wedding traumatize me for the same reason because he was finally thinking he got another chance of a happily ever after.
Even after getting pinned by her, he can't even imagine the thought of losing her. He was willing to trade anything to keep her alive and by his side. The person who couldn't stand betrayal (before having love threads) was ready to overlook even the most cruel form of betrayal. Just to be with her. She was not just his wife and queen but also his hope, home and a family. If I was in his place, I would have gone berserk too.

TTJ wasn't coming to terms but was willing to commit suicide along with YXW's corpse. It was a last resort by NBY. NBY is of demonic descend (Yiyue tribe at that) They always take a risky route. Remember he was even okay with TTJ becoming a Devil god lol. I don't think he's someone of rational thinking. As he said earlier in the episode, he had to send TTJ somewhere away (because he lost the person he loved in the palace).
Sending him to Nether river is kind of a better option than coming under the clutches of SY & JM especially when TTJ was irrational and emotionally unstable. The only reason I can accept the nether river is because he get to meet his Shifu. He played a huge role in actually rationalising TTJ.
Earlier I used to be so confused because in literal sense immortal means the one who can't be subjected to death at all.
As you said, we've probably applied all kind of permutations and combinations resulting in only one outcome π€§π
I actually want to curse at Yiyue tribe for making a deal with ADG in the first place sigh!
But I would have probably signed a deal too if ADG is such a hot daddy π
Just gods chilling in heaven β€οΈ

So, TTJ's end was inevitable π€§π
