Okay I wanted to put this out as I see few saying that their family animosity buildup were for nothing. But to me it makes sense because let's not forget we've always seen this story from PatPran's pov. They both were told to hate the neighbours and stay away from each other for various made up reasons and the reasons they didn't even know. As they say fears are bigger than consequences, Pran's fears regarding their family feud stemmed from his mom always drawing a strict line between him and Pat and she transferring him in mid of his high school year just because he played with Pat. To his mom, it was simply because she was scared that the history would repeat for her son too (Pat might steal his scholarship) but from Pran's pov Pat has always been a forbidden fruit to him. But as we got the complete picture now, I feel it all makes more sense now. Scholarship issue is reasonable for not having any ties with each other but it is not as deep as to stop their children from seeing each other or even meddling too much in their children's lives. Pat's mom and Pran's dad have personal issues which should be resolved by those two so it wouldn't have made sense if they made a big deal out of it to a point to stop their kids from seeing each other. Sometimes a story doesn't have to be too dramatic and angsty for it to be successful. It can be as simple and as non toxic as bbs too.
We've been through a lot π
