I actually took time to sit down and delve to the meaning of what he might have meant about that and I came to the best 3 conclusions that symbolizes his meaning. 1.Just as smoke fades, a cigarette burns down into nothing but ash. An ashtray symbolizes what is left behind after passion, energy, or life has burned out.(My point to support this was that at the cinema , he took a photo of them which is something that Foon was shocked about because that's something he doesn't do and he wanted to keep it as a memory that he went out of his comfort zone just to be with the man he loves. 2.It often symbolizes intimate, late-night conversations, political plotting, or artistic collaboration where ideas were exhaled along with the smoke.( A the beach he clearly did show his slight vulnerability by saying that all yours belong to me and mine belong to you as well, they might have not been smoking but they shared their feelings only the best way they know how to. This is someone from a young age who has never had the time to have heart to heart talks with anyone. Also another example is when they played basketball , he shared one of his deepest secrets while playing basketball.) 3.The relationship is the tray, and every disappointment, unspoken resentment, or minor slight is a flick of ash.( Their relationship is indeed like an ashtray because the trust is till being built and along the way they are disappointments, unspoken truths, and minor set backs that are stopping their relationship. Hui does love Fei Foon so bad that he is even willing to change the organization that his father failed to change. Another side note that you people might have never noticed was that Hui knows that Chloe is a lesbian because it only clicked to him after she made the remark about how she joked with his dad about how if she brought a woman instead of a man , did you see how a lightbulb kind of shown in his face.
When I watch , I watch for emotions and understanding the deeper meaning of some metaphors and for me I do agree with Hui.
I had taken a break from this drama because of the rollecoaster ride of emotions I would get from watching it. On Episode 8 Xiaofan diidnt go back because he wanted to , it was planned. Who told Xiaofeng about Pingpin office address, which led to him being fired, after being fired there is no job for him and there is only 1 person who can help him get a job and that person is Luqing. Xiaofan never wanted to go back but circumstances forced him.
The way I am soo toxic. I remember during Double Helix days I always left a comment that I have Lu Feng's back and today I am here to say I have Big Jane's back because hmm these men be playing and trampling on these creatures hearts that love them. Now when its time , they start acting shocked about how they treated the other. The familarity about this is both Lu Feng and Big Jane are not 100 % green flags but when it comes to loving their partners, they take the cup. Now their partners always put other people first than them. I want Big Jane to be like Lu Feng and act nonchalant but lowkey obsessed by Little Jane.
I just want to go to Thailand and look for the entire cast of this drama especially the Top 3 and I just give them flowers from another contient because I believe they are used to Thai flowers becuase dam this story is just beautiful and wel told. I thought Khemjira was my no 1. BL of all time but nahhh this one takes the spot and I dont think there is something that is close to this ever. This is not just story telling, its emotions unpacking and detailing of a beautiful love story. I can write a book about how wonderful this story is.

I am going to be honest , this year havent watched much BL drama because non of them were kinda ecxiting for me. I watched Ticket to Heaven because it has been on my watchlist.
Now lets talk, this has to be one of the best BL of all time for me. Its portaying a lot of things that I as a born Catholic is not aware of. Its basically not focusing on BL only but every aspect that even a staright person can go through. My main tagline is Lust means letting desire control us. Its showing us how greed and desire both work hand in hand to produce lust. You are greedy for something which leads to the desire of having it. The indepth emotions of struggling to let go of the desire is quite difficult if its a occurence you have never seen before. That is Tanrak , he is struggling so bad that he is questioning everything he knows, its just like in life where you start questioning all the things you know, principles, values and beliefs.
Now according to Barth, knowing your shortcoming irregardless of them not aligning with your beliefs you just hav eto be honest to yourself.
I can literally go the wholw day talking about good of a story this is because this a storytelling not just a drama but storytelling.
I am back again . I feel like people keep on missing the point here . No one said Yichen doesn’t love Lu Feng , he loves him but not enough to sacrifice which Lu Feng is capable of doing . I have watched the movie . At the end he told Lu Feng that you don’t know what I lost and till today I myself as well don’t know what he lost because both he and Lu Feng lost parents . What else did he lose .
After scrolling through comments I just decided to come again and add my two cents . Most people are saying that Xiao Chen sacrificed more-than Lu Feng like it’s a competition. Where is it written that the first child is obligated to sacrifice for the little brothers, Lu Feng was his only fathers son while the Chengs had two sons who can fulfil the whatever selfish desires the parents had . Since we are listing the sacrifices then let’s go. -Xiao Chen sacrificed his happiness and who he is so that his brother has a chance to be with a guy he loves( idiotic behaviour) -Made the mother happy who didn’t in turn care about his happiness (stupidity) So basically that’s what he sacrificed. Now let’s move to Lu Feng -The first ever sacrifice he made was to be beaten into a pulp for acknowledging his relationship to his dad. - Agreeing to an engagement as means of going back to see Cheng and be with him. - Denounced the marriage that could have made his company more successful - Stood up to his father at the mention of Cheng being hurt , something he has never done before. - Even though his father was dying he literally put Cheng first , even when his father told him that he will regret his decisions. - Denounced his last name - Lost his inheritance

People are saying that he is impatient, he is the same person who spent almost quarter of his time in the US wanting to go back with no means and you think the moment he got the chance to be with Cheng he would let him go . Try that with a kid at a candy store and see if you will win.
If Lu Feng is the executor I am morethan willing to see Cheng being the one executed because he never put much into the relationship.
It doesn’t mean Lu Feng doesn’t care about his family like Cheng but it’s because he has the guts to stand tall for his love and priorities while Cheng doesn’t .
I think I am happy about how they didn’t really dive much into the book and the movie . Now this is quite refreshing , the way I just kept on pulling my hair that Lu Feng doesn’t become a simp and thank heavens he didn’t. I want Yichen to cry a river of blood and no happiness at all . Lu Feng was the first person to lose a parent after choosing Yichen but what does he do after the mother dies . The fact that he had to wait until he got divorced to start acting like he cares for Lu Feng is earning him a bombastic side eye from my end . The guts, the audacity he has . I wonder how he got the guts
I am having heart palpitations can someone please send me a doctor . I wonder how Yichen will look like when he discovers that his brother was the one who deleted the message . His brother acts like best thing before sliced bread and it’s really annoying me . From the very beginning Yichen never was 100 percent , it might have been shown like that but Lu Feng was a 100 and all his organs . I don’t wish retribution for them at all . I want them to be all under Lu Fengs mercy like , let it rain revenge .
I have a gut feeling that Suho is Park Jaebom. Like Jaebom might have been a good friend who died so that Suho can get what he want or maybe he was killed . Like it’s intensity is now killing me
