The show has made so many differences from the novel already and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Funny thing is read the novel like a month ago and Ididn't even know they were adapting it to drama so when I saw the trailer on YouTube last week i was so excited but cautious because I could tell they were planning to change stuff. But after watching the first episode I'm even more disappointed because they're going making it a bit more comedic than it was in the books. Also in the books JBZ never fought MX before she was poisoned. And his spiritual veins weren't gotten from the poison he just developed them late. The poison was tested on him in the slave camp thats why he has the antidote. I feel like since they're changing this part of the story they're going to ignore the greater plot twist in the third arc of the story. I'll keep watching but I don't know how much longer I can last since i dont really like comedic dramas.

I think its more about control though. Everytime she wants to tell the truth he gives her something and then she feels guilty. When she feels guilty shes more likely to agree to whatever he wants or overlook the inconsistencies in his behaviour.
I think the story has changed its primary narrator/pov and it seems like we'll be exploring SHs side of the story now, if the flash backs in the latest episodes and the change of tone the story is anything to go by. So far we've managed to see a shift in XYs thinking and hiw shee responds to situations. We're still in episode 12 and i think the next few episodes to the divorce and immediately after will follow SHM and his own character development. Then we'll probably witness a time jump. Also there's somethign about Fang Lei that is off. Especially from that flash back scene. She's obsessed with SHM. But SHM is tied to her because of her sister and his son. And SHMs relationships are within a certain spectrum probably because of his ex girlfriend's death. I wonder if there is something else about his ex girlfriend's death. He seems to not have fully moved on. I've said earlier that he's attracted to XY and I still maintain that but the reaveal about his dead girlfroend and son has added layers to how I see his relationship with XY and his manipulation. While XY is lying for love, SHM is lying to get control of his life. For all his ability to manipulate behind the scenes, he is still like a tiger in a cage.
I just watched the previews for episodes 15 and 16 something SH said makes me think that XY asking for a divorce is going to make him begin to question the things that he beleives about who XY is as a person. I don't think he understands that her deception was for love and not for anything else. Also I'm happy XY finally is free from the lie. Lies are heavy and they be build a gilded cage around those who tell them. Even seemingly simple lies can spiral out of control quickly. The end does not justify the means. Also SH is like the shark that stealthily circles its prey until it's too late for them to escape. He's a suspicious person and doesn't trust people, and the extent to the relationships he has that we've seen so far are peopel hes responsible for or to and people he can use, oddly icant really tell where his relationship with XYs grandma falls on that scale. As far as I can see from what has been released so far he is attracted to XY but he doesn't love her. But again XYs lie has also made her unable to be her authentic self and a suspicious person sees through lies easily.
Another things is SHs obsession with Agave. It's a reflection of his character. He is not in a hurry to get results. He's patient. And the same way he'll prune the plant is the same way he quietly moulds situations to favour him. He's a master manipulator.
So anyone want to tell was the dead one like his real sister, adopted sister or cousin? And why did no one ask…
The subtitles were good where I watched it though. Also the whole premise is just that the two girls are doppelgangers. Hence the whole germinate rose thing. And the original MX was YXC/YYs younger sister. SM is just a randon person who happens to look like his sister.

The thing is that he hasn seen his sister sice they were kids and he was seperated from her so he isn't really attached to her current appearance. He's more attached his sister as he remembers her than anything else.
So what you're telling me ids that because that foolish maid decided to poison the king that Shifu is going to die. And since he can't protect her from creepy lord Chang he'll give her to the emperor so the emperor an protect her. The emperor for the first time is actually being sensible at least from the trailer I've seen. I think the show is leaning towards Shifu and Haishi ending up together but not for long. Also I'm not entire sure that haishi became a consort i think she's some sort of honorary lady/ member of the royal family but i maybe wrong. If I'm right however, there is every chance we are going to get a happy ending. Also i think Ti Lan is pregnant. I mean the sleepiness just wait until she starts throwing up. 😏 but again i may be wrong.
Yea im getting so damn pissed at Fang Jian Ming and i have never liked the Emperor. Haishi deserves better
