On Battle Royale II: Requiem Aug 28, 2012
My friend and I tried a drinking game with this one. Everytime somebody died, we had to drink. After the first 20 minutes more than ten people died at the same time^^ Yeah... not such a great idea :D

What's so wrong about comparing this to other dramas? Is there a rule we can't? Everyone's feeling like they're…
Ah pfff.. :D Anyway since it seems that this is my personal pet peeve and nobody else seems to mind the comparing, I want to leave this discussion as levelheaded as possible now and will just stop bothering about comments that don't have any constructive criticism from now on. So, as always, to each his own :)

That's funny because I was the only one saying that I don't like the comparing. Who was it directed to then?

Aw, no worries, I wasn't offended by your comment per se. I just realized the recent trend of comparing dramas…
While I totally agree that as soon as you're emotionally invested in something, you become more protective of it, that doesn't mean I feel offended by all criticism. I mean you say you didn't like her crying, because it was too childish. I can accept that even if I think that it was authentic, because when you're in a lot of pain you don't care how you look like while crying and just scream. And I found that them falling in love that fast was more natural as well, because from my own experience and people close to me, I think people fall in love much more often through intense flirting and not hours of bickering. But disagreeing on these things doesn't offend me in the slightest. So I never said criticism should stop, but I was just concerned with the bashing of the drama as if everybody needs to understand that K2H/SG or whatever is the better drama asap.

I never said you can't, because who am I to tell you what to do? I was just stating my opinion on the drama comparing business, because I personally feel that it doesn't add much to discussion. So you like K2H better? I didn't. What do we gain through that? Nothing. So why would I go over to K2H and say QIHM is 100000 times better than K2H?! I was just speaking from what I would do and what I don't like, you can of course do whatever you want ;)

Don't worry you don't sound like a hater, this just shows you have a different taste when it comes to dramas than…
I agree on HJW and Hyun Bin being great actors. I thought YIN did well for her first leading role and JHW had a lot of charm, that helped liking the character of BD even more. I don't really want to compare QIHM with other dramas though, because that would negate the whole purpose of my previous posts. I can only tell you why I like QIHM for what it is. The directing was beautiful, the chemistry great but most importantly the story was so amazingly well written. There was never a loose plot point, so many circular motives that were used in a very clever way. I loved how it raised a lot of philosophical questions and made me theorize about them. But most importantly I loved how the OTP treated each other with respect and understanding and how feminist the drama got at some parts. For people who are interested in stuff like this, I don't see why they shouldn't have BIG expectations :)

Absolutely agree, objective criticism is a good thing and something I have absolutely no problem with. But just…
Well, I didn't find that insulting at all :D

Aw, no worries, I wasn't offended by your comment per se. I just realized the recent trend of comparing dramas with each other and then saying that that drama was much worse and I find it hard to argue when there are no real arguments on why the drama is worse, so I couldn't help myself but comment on it. I think most of us aren't professionals in acting, directing etc., so our opinions can differ a lot as well, but of course that shouldn't stop us from being able to discuss it. For me YIN's acting tugged my heart strings, I laughed and cried with her and I especially loved her hand gestures, then again all of this is subjective, so my comment above is a little bit hypocritical, I admit :D I guess saying, we can say our opinion about something is absolutely fine, but we shouldn't make people who like it feel like whatever they like is not worth so much liking. Am I still making sense?^^

Absolutely agree, objective criticism is a good thing and something I have absolutely no problem with. But just comparing it to something you subjectively like better is not really helpful and can offend people who like it. I mean if somebody says the writing, directing or acting was bad and can give logical evidence for that, fans can actually argue against it and great discussions can arise, but how can one argue against somebody saying: "This is not a masterpiece. Those dramas are much better". I'm wondering why people think YIN is not a good actress, because her crying scenes for example made my heart ache. So, if somebody can tell me what they didn't like about her acting, it could lead to an interesting discussion. I know comparing is human nature and who am I to tell people what to do anyway? So why am I even ranting here?! I guess my love for QIHM made me overprotective. Haha :D

Oh and for everybody who thinks that the ending was stupid, I recommend reading wanderlust's comment on the recap of ep 16 on dramabeans. Just scroll down to comment #36. Wanderlust's analysis really shows how deep and well written the drama was from the beginning till the end, in my opinion :)

Yes, to each his own I guess, but I don't understand why people have to diss this drama so much here and kill the joy that people had, thinking this drama IS a masterpiece. I for one think Secret Garden is the most overrated drama in existence, but I would never go to its site and write how I think that everybody who thinks it's great, must have a shitty taste just because I dislike it. I know freedom of speech and all that, but doesn't that mean we should respect how other people feel about something as well? Kind of like people leaving mean comments about Justin Bieber all over Youtube, just because they don't like that he's famous (and I'm saying that as somebody who doesn't really have any opinion on JB). Wouldn't it be better if people spread their love for something instead of their hate? (sry for my mini rant, I'm just all for positivity :P)

I agree that the couple is cute, and have amazing chemistry, but I find the show to be kinda boring in general.…
Haha, I actually think exactly the same about other dramas, like Rooftop Prince for example. Totally over-hyped in my opinion. I guess different people like different things, so for me QIHM is THAT awesome ;)
