Title Flower of Evil Spoiler
Asking out of curiosity... Why was she terrible?
Each relationship is different so it's understandable if you don't agree with her actions. For instance, lying is a big NO for me. I've been together with my husband for 15 years (married for 5), and we both agree that any lie is a cause for concern. If you look at it from his POV, she should have trusted him, but that doesn't make sense if you look at it from her POV. She's a cop, hunting a murderer, and she finds out (from his own drugged up confession) that he's a the murder suspect. So to rule him out as a possible murderer, she tracks him, watches him, does her job as a detective, while clinging to the hope that she wasn't fooled for 15 years, that her entire marriage is not built on a lie. If she was doing her job as a cop, she would have arrested him. If she was rash and confronted him, based on what she knew at the time, there was a chance he would have killed her and their daughter (because he was a psychopath who pretended non stop for 15 years and that is scary). So to me, her actions make perfect sense. I like smart characters and she played it smart. She conducted her own investigation, ruled him out and then decided to give it her all to protect him without telling him until she had to because she didn't want to burst the perfect bubble they lived in.

Not to mention, the fact that he was the perfect husband is what freaked her out, and made her think that he was acting for 15 years. What father wouldn't get frustrated at a child crying non stop and the level of patience he portrayed was super human. They never had a fight for 15 years. That's abnormal. Honestly, not siding with him 100% as soon as the suspicion arose is intelligent of her. Anything less and she would have been a stupid character.

As for Eun Ha, Ji Won has taken on the role of the traditional male lead. While the husband is a stay at home dad, she's busy working and doing her job. It makes sense to me that her behaviour matches the men I've met in my life who have stay at home wives. Hyun Su's entire life revolves around his daughter and wife, the metal work coming in second. Ji Won focuses more on her work than her daughter because she knows her husband is there. She's not a single mother. She doesn't have to balance it all. She has someone at home to focus on her child so she can focus on her work. And again, that makes sense to me. Shouldn't letting her husband (who can't remember his daughter) go on with his life instead of trying to force a relationship between them a healthy thing to do? The poor child will be just as disappointed as she is over and over and over. The fact that as a parent she chose not to do that to her child shows how much she loves Eun Ha.

Asking out of curiosity... Why was she terrible?
If you switch the genders and she was the stay at home mother who worked in a metal shop in her free time and her husband was having a demanding 24/7 job of being a detective and if they are BOTH good parents to you, it stands to reason that by the rule of equality, the fact that he chose to be a stay at home father working on his metal work during his free time while his wife is a working 24/7 as a detective makes them BOTH good parents. One provides financially while the other handles the day to day work. I don't believe in the archaic rule that women should be at home looking after the children. Marriage is a partnership and the show really shows that by switching the gender roles.

Anyone else annoyed with the level of pouting done by Ha Ji Won? I've seen her in Chocolate and she was phenomenal. I can't take her character seriously here.

lol I agree in LOTBS and YWCFTS she is kind of a ham. I was asking myself if she was so bad on screen because…
Haha. I was wondering the same thing. Is it the actress? Is it the director? Is it the writing? Is it all three? - It's good to know that she's better in movies. I want to see her in a serious role to see if the directors of those dramas are to blame or not.

TBH I hear others who share the same sentiments as you, however I do think the camera loves her and she is quite…
She's gorgeous. It's just that her performances were too ditzy for my taste. I didn't see any depth in her drama performances. Just a lot of surface acting.

This is like watching a train wreck and... I'm kind of addicted to the mess...? This show is not for everyone. If you like unlikeable characters choosing to dwell in their own sorry state of affairs (which, let's face it, most humans are like this), then you'll enjoy this. If you need character growth in your stories, you wouldn't like this at all.

I must be the only one who strongly dislikes Jun Ji Hyun. Both Legend of the Blue Sea and You Who Came From The Stars were such cringe worthy performances that it got low ratings from me. I had to force myself to finish the dramas. I love your other choices though.

I can't believe I went from wanting to drop this drama CONSTANTLY during the first four episodes to binge watching the rest in a day. What kind of sorcery is this?

I just hate this drama. Sloppy writing, misuse of characters, waste of purpose and meaning for all of this, hateful…
All the female characters are flaky as hell. AJ says she'll say everything and she doesn't, her mother knows that the man wasn't told about his daughter and when he finds out she beats him as if he was the one at fault, and the daughter wants a father no matter what and then changes her mind when her father shows up. The writer has no ideas. Clearly.

AJ has no personality trait except for one: victim mentality. Everything that has happened so far has been based on her choices, her misunderstandings and her actions. And yet, she plays the victim over and over and everyone in her life agrees...? I don’t even understand why everyone likes her. She’s not a likeable person. - The only reason I’ll keep watching this show is to see how Ha Nee will solve things with her father. I know who AJ will end up with because it’s a kdrama formula, but that poor man does not deserve this.
