That's awesome! I went ahead and checked out your list too! We totally have the same taste in dramas :o p.s. i also started watching dramas (Hongkong - TVB) at a very young age because of my parents. then I moved onto kdrama and cdramas ((;
As someone who doesn't enjoy military themed dramas (I couldn't get into Descendant of the Sun) should I give…
Though I finished this drama, I'm not someone who's into military theme dramas as well. I've also watched Descendant of the Sun (I like this more than Crash Landing on You). This might be an unpopular opinion, but I honestly think that this drama is a bit overrated. Since you didn't like Descendant of the Sun, I don't think this drama is for you because it has a bit more military-based scenes/plot than Descendant of the Sun. Tbh, I did get bored watching like 30% of the drama, especially since each episode is over an hour long. I gave it an 8/10. Nothing special (pretty average), but not my favorite either.
I've only watched 3 military dramas (political isn't really my thing) and only one captured my heart ('Arsenal Military Academy' - 10/10 ).
If you're looking for a light-hearted drama with GREAT chemistry, then I highly recommend 'The Romance of Tiger and Rose.' (10/10 ) <3 Short and cute, light on the political side.
Finished this drama in just a couple of days! It went by so fast! I honestly thought that I was gonna drop this drama half-way, but ended binge-watching the entire thing! Throughout the entire drama, I couldn't stop laughing LOL but in the end, I cried so much!
I've been reading through the comments and no one really talked about Huang Song, instructor Guo, and Li Wenzhong :(( I CRIED so much when Huang song died (for a solid two episodes) and then Li WenZhong and lastly Instructor Guo. They deserve better! It was so sad how Li WenZhong basically 'committed suicide' by fighting the Japanese alone to sort of make up for the mistake that he had made that caused Huang Song to die. What's surprising to me is the story of how they met (Li Wenzhong bullying Huang Song but eventually developing a friendship together and HS ultimately sacrificing his life to save LWZ). Finished the drama but couldn't forget these characters although it was a happy ending :((
Some of the reviews claimed that they’ve finished the entire drama. I’ve also seen clips online from episodes that aren’t even out yet. Is there a website with all 48 episodes?
I'm new to cdramas, probably this is gonna be my second after Fifteen years of migratory birds, so can you guys…
Hey, I totally understand your feelings as I was in the same exact spot years ago. When I first started watching dramas, I mainly watched Korean dramas. To be honest, as a Chinese myself, I find your comment a bit offensive BUT I felt the same way back then as well so I am in no place to judge. However, I still would recommend you to be a bit more open to other dramas because you won't know what you'll find till you try! I still remember switching from korean dramas (not completely) to chinese dramas. I admit, you'll find weird at first and it'll be hard to adjust in the beginning. But, once you get used to it, I swear you'll feel no different from watching a korean drama. Once I started watching Chinese dramas, I have found A LOT of amazing dramas! I once disliked historical dramas too, but since binge -watching tons of great historical dramas, it's now one of my favorite genre! All in all, I highly recommend you trying it out! There are tons of great chinese dramas out there and who knows, you might find a chinese drama that you'll ended up loving! Now, I rarely watch koreans dramas because I personally think that Chinese dramas are better! This drama for me is a 10/10 without a doubt! It's light-hearted and not much political-based, so it's not your typical historical dramas (no boring scenes that you would usually see in a historical drama). 90% of it is focused on the two main leads (with lots of cute and funny scenes) so you don't have to worry! Also, it's only 24 episodes so it's not long compared to the typical historical dramas.
Here are some great dramas I recommend (I rarely give 10/10 to dramas because I have high expectations - my first 10/10 was given to a historical drama, which is ironic cause I used to dislike historical dramas so much) : - The romance of tiger and rose -- duh (; - Ashes of Love (long but great chemistry and plot! Finished in two days!) - Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms - Eternal Love of Dream
Not 10/10s but popular dramas that I gave either an 8 or 9: - Autumn Concerto - Love O2O - Go go squid - A love so beautiful - The Flames Daughter - Cinderella Chef - Moon Shine and Valentine * not the greatest dramas I've watched, but it's a great start maybe? I've only given a few 10/10 and they're all historical dramas so I have yet to find a non-historical drama that's worth 10/10 in my opinion *
Just finished this masterpiece, and I LOVED every single episode of it! I went into this drama not knowing that it was a romcom (my first) and honestly, it made the story even better for me. It didn't have any long, boring parts relating to political issues. Instead, it went at the right pace and kept me on my toes throughout the entire drama. It's light-hearted yet the chemistry between the two leads went way over and beyond. I just finished the last episode yesterday and I still can't get over how great the two leads are! The story was perfect. The acting was perfect. The chemistry was SUPERIOR. The only thing I wanted to comment on was the ending. I really wished they dedicated an entire episode for the two leads in the modern world rather than 10-ish minutes. But, it's still a great drama. Hopefully, both leads can be in another drama again (portraying as lovers of course)! 10/10 (:
