Started well, added too much, and got lost in it
it started as a fun rom com. It really did. But then there were so many storylines dropped into it for no reason.
The main characters, the house thing and the secondary couple were all nice. So it had a nice premise, but somehow it felt as if the writer didn't yet decide what genre they want to focus on. And added many other plotlines into the story that were just taking away from the main story without adding much to it.
for me first of all childhood connections didn't add anything, on the contrary it took away the sincerity of their feelings as the attitude changed because of that connection. Though nothing much would have changed without it, if they focused on the main couple more. I think we should start getting away from those childhood connections by now or it creates a feeling that it is impossible for people to meet new people without them being somehow connected in their childhood.
The department store storyline would have been great if it focused on the house, and the main couple. but instead it somehow went into their own struggles. which would have been okay if it was developed and kept the rom com vibe but it wasn't.
And finally the whole storyline with their own company and the past mystery was just taken straight from some cliche detective story. Nothing would have changed if it wasn't there, it took away from the main story so much that i forgot about the house and the main couple for an episode. And it wasn't fully developed and resolved easily.
It would have been great if they kept the focus on the rom-com, and the house, their relationship, funny moments, the old boyfriend, the marriage thing, etc. But it kind of became secondary for me especially in the last few episodes.
saying that, I did like the main couple, love jung so min. I laughed at some scenes making me crave for more comedy, also the secondary couple's story, the Secretary's choices and all was interesting and fun to watch.
These are my thoughts. as much as i try to stay objective it's still always subjective. So depending on your interests you can try a bit and then see if its for you.
