I don't see it this way at all. I think the Chief is scared because he's deeply in love with Tian and doesn't…
For me they are in character with how they were at the beginning of ATOTS. But what about how they've grown individually and as a couple since then? Where is the mature couple that kissed at the top of that mountain? This crossover is a regression.

Phupha already kissed him in front of his parents and suddenly he's nervous? Not buying it. Also, we've seen Phupha visiting the city before and he seemed just fine. And the childish fight over who fell inlove first? It isn't even that they are fighting over nothing because that happens to all couples, it's that the reasons they gave and the way they fight is like Phupha/Tian at the beginning of ATOTS and not like the more mature couple we saw at the end.

This gentle drama has turned into a thriller and I don't like the change. Couldn't they make it shorter and stay true to their original story?

Thoughts on ep. 32... first OMG, the final scenes.....Now..~It is so obvious the feelings RTZ has for TT when…
I think through his character the writers are trying to show the hard reality of parents from poor villages putting all their hopes on a kid makings it big in the big city, and the toll it takes on society. It's actually a very gentle criticism on the way things are in China right now.

Sorry, it's been a while and I can't remember.
But from what I csan recall most cases didn't last more than an episode or two.

It may be that mental itself is a taboo in China.

To be honest I feel like there was more going on there. Like her black painting covering up everything. To me…
I also got the feeling that she was raped or something, and then when she ran away because she didn't want to see her family I thought it was one of them. I think that was probably the original idea of the writers, but they had to scrap it because of censorship.

Or that's how you feel when your parents oppress you...
Actually, medically speaking going between inner darkness and being over sexual can be a sign of being bipolar, but she was fine in the year away from her parents so it was probably their behaviour that caused her trauma.

So basically they locked her up because she's an hormonal teenager...? Who likes having sex like normal teenagers do...? Is that a bad thing in China?

I'm guessing the creators were trying to kiss some government behinds with that lecture...
Smart of them, really.👌 When so many other Cdramas have been postponed, a drama that glorifies Chinese heritage can have a smooth sailing. Too bad that for western ears it felt too much like brain washing and too little like a script.

why was this discontinued with only 8 episodes released
There are all sorts of rumours but no one knows for sure.
After reading the novel, my personal guess is that it's because of the themes of pedophilia and corruption that the Chinese government didn't like.

No one knows if or when it's coming back.My advice is to watch the eight episodes available and then read the…
It isn't 100% the same as the drama, so I'd aim for a little overlap and start with the whole paedophilia case at chapter 34.

Does Can Ci Pin have a completed translation anywhere? The only options I could find had only half the chapters.
