While I'm sure I'll enjoy this site-- I'm VERY new to kdrama-- I'm currently about done with Boys Over Flowers (2 episodes left to watch tonight)--& Playful Kiss was my first. I ONLY joined this site just now to comment on this review. I, too, just happen to be a 44 year- old American -- though a female one!-- (&yes....currently in love with Kim Hyun Joong!--haha)-- but as I read all I could think was YES-- YES--EXACTLY--YES! I completely agree with this review. It may not be coming from the perspective of an unbiased critic-- but I agree nonetheless. I discovered the show on Netflix-- & for dome reason decided to watch it (as subtitles are not normally my "thing")&completely fell in love with the show- story-actors- whatever. I can honestly say I have NEVER done this with another show-- but I've been watching it for about 2/3 weeks-- at least some of my favorite bits daily--& sometimes- like today when I was off- several episodes. I've seen each one about a half dozen times now and some of my favorite scenes I'm sure well over 100 times each-- I think it's safe to say I'm officially addicted!!-- this show has prompted me to search out other dramas now (watched the Japanese version &part if the Taiwanese version as well- I forgot that for a minute--& while I enjoyed both-- NOWHERE near the same as watching Playful Kiss.)--& I've even decided to try to teach myself Korean- LOL! (I'mean serious about it though. I'm sure it will be difficult and will take quite some time, all things considered....but I'm going to do it!)
I'm typing this on my phone and can only see a couple lines at a time& also typing quickly....so please forgive the rambling thoughts here- horrible grammar (wasn't really going for that- wanted more to convey my total and complete agreement with the OP here!^^^) I'm sure there are plenty of typos also!
I too am going to order this- whatever parts I can get my hands on- the show for sure-- but hopefully Seung Jo's Diary as well....doubtful the specials since they are YouTube only...OH question!to the OP.....since you are American also....Group 8 blocked some of the content on the YouTube specials here-- as I'm sure you noticed also. Have you found a way around that?? I DEARLY wish to.see them all- preferably with English subtitles but however I can get them! I saw 3 which weren't blocked and another with another language in the subtitles- but there are 3 I haven't seen at all. Any answer.....anyone?? Thanks in advance!--simply IN LOVE with this drama and couldn't care less what anyone else has had to say about it as far as the criticisms go....I like what I like...and love THIS! :) Have a wonderful week everyone!
