MDL puts up a rating on the day it airs while another drama is on its second day and no rating yet. Does MDL do…
No, I think it depends on the number of ratings that have been left? It probably triggers the algorithm to publish the rating once a certain number has been hit. Just a guess, but that's how it works on some other platforms.
Is the ending really the only thing worth judging? So all 30–40 episodes of acting and everything else can just…
You're missing the point though. Ratings outside China DO NOT MATTER AT ALL. The Chinese, like most Asians, couldn't give a rat's ass what non-Chinese/non-Asians think about anything they produce, so the MDL losers can downrate a drama to eternity. All it does is waste their own finite time on the planet. (I lived in Thailand for heading towards 2 decades, and while many Thais definitely care what the Chinese think of them (Thailand has a very close relationship with China due to the millions of Thai-Chinese), they couldn't care less what an American or a German thinks. Same over much of Asia, which is why "woke" has never taken hold on the continent).
I say let them, as they're the same type of loser who would be assassinating a president or shooting a health care CEO in the back if they could get their hands on a gun and get away with it.
A pathetic waste of space, and not worthy of anyone's time.

They are the same morons who downrate every episode right to the last one, even though only 6 episodes have been released. You just have to realize, they have sad, pathetic, lonely little lives, so let them waste their finite time on stupidity.
MDL ratings have ZERO bearing on anything China produces, or on any of the actors who star in C-dramas (China literally does NOT care what non-Chinese think about anything), so let the losers continue losering. It's all they're worth.
I don’t understand, this show is so good, the acting is good the CGI is great, why has the rating dropped?!…
Because MDL has a huge problem with trolls who aren't even watching a drama but downrate is massively because they "don't like the ML or FL" or are "offended" by something in it. You can't fix stupid. Don't even try :) -- And honestly, nobody pays any attention to MDL ratings. The site lost any reputation it had, ratings-wise, a long time ago as it allows the trolls to operate without any attempt to stop them.
XSY is one handsome man. Love him! I really hope that he gets lots of screentime even as guest role. c:
Yep, he's so manly, isn't he? LOL -- and Season 1 of Lost Pearl is excellent, then Season 2 goes to hell in a handbasket. But still worth it for XSY!!!
And I'm in 7th Heaven with Fate Chooses You, because him, Liu Xue Yi, Allen Ren, Riley Wang, and Zheng Ye Cheng - the casting call must have gone out for "Hot guys only need apply" - hahahaha.

I just sat through 20-odd episodes of the worst C-drama in YEARS (Season 2 of The Secret of the Lost Pearl) because he was the ML. I like him so much :)
She really is. Imagine filming movies and TV shows, while taking care of a baby and a husband, AND being in an 18-month Masters degree program in Paris. All at the same time. She obviously knows how to prioritize her time :)
And btw, she's extremely intelligent. Undergraduate degree in electronics and information engineering from Beijing Technology and Business University, and a very recent Masters degree from HEC Paris - this short is her talking about being in the 18-month Masters program, while filming movies and TV shows and being married with a baby. She's pretty amazing.
I also liked how they had the school reunion group speak earlier in the drama. I don't understand much Chinese,…
You're correct that travel/living in other countries really does open your mind to different views and ways of living. I notice that with my friends who have spent years/decades living overseas. They just look at the world differently.
I've lived in six countries so far (UK, U.S., Thailand, Malaysia, Spain, Austria) with the longest being 14 years in Thailand. Currently in my 10th year in Austria but getting itchy feet to move somewhere else. :) Probably back to Asia at some point :) The deep traditions/culture/superstitions/customs of that continent interest me like no other countries. Life always just seems richer, and more vibrant there than anywhere else I've lived.
And yep, let's sign up for that anger management class together - hahahaha.

I grew up in the UK (England) where we have around 40 different accents, some of them are very strong. So strong, even I have a problem understanding British movies nowadays and have to use subtitles as I left the UK decades ago :) But yes, I still love hearing them.
I also love hearing the Chinese dialects, as they add such a strong personality to a character. Same when I lived in Thailand - I always loved the "upcountry" Thai accents instead of the Bangkok accent, as they always sound so welcoming and friendly.
And yep, that's very nasty for a streamer to criticize actors' accents. Personally, I think every Chinese actor should dub their own voice, as many of the voice actors they choose don't "fit" the actor or their character. It would add an extra layer of authenticity to a character, IMO.
And I know what you mean about anger management classes. I feel the same way sometimes :)

"Weren't you dead? Apparently not dead enough. Let me finish the job".
Love this FL. So feisty. Kicks ass first, asks questions later :)
EDIT: He's another actor who is not stereotypically handsome (has a huge nose!) but is sooooooooo sexy :) Brilliant singer too.
