Okay, so I’ve only watched the first two episodes, but I’m honestly surprised at how quickly the chemistry pulled me in especially once we go back to the past. You can really feel the contrast between past and present: in the past the FL is bubbly, bright, and super cute, while in the present she carries this more sorrowful, weighed-down aura. It actually makes the whole story feel deeper because you’re watching how life has shaped her.
Ren Jia looks handsome (no complaints there), and I really like the FL so far. She’s naïve in a charming way, outspoken, cute, a little silly, and honestly just fun to watch. The fighting scenes are nicely done, not over-edited or confusing, which I appreciate,it’s adding to my enjoyment instead of pulling me out.
I’ve been in a c-drama slump lately, but this drama might actually be the one to drag me out of it. Even in both past and present timelines, you can see that the ML will stop at nothing to make her his. He’s pretty possessive, and… I kind of like it. 👀
Overall, for only two episodes in, the vibes are promising and I’m definitely curious to keep watching.

I’d say go for it—I recommend the show. I’m glad I started watching without letting reviews sway me because I actually enjoy it. Sure, some characters have their flaws, but compared to what some male leads in other shows I love have done, it’s really not that bad.
