Didn’t Expect to Love Resident Playbook—But Here We Are

Resident Playbook is actually the first K-drama I’ve ever watched that focuses on doctors, and honestly, I didn’t expect to love it this much. The show was so good it even made me start watching Hospital Playlist afterward—and that says a lot.

What really stood out to me was how the drama balanced everything—comedy, emotional scenes, and even real-life lessons. I genuinely learned a few things about OB-GYN while watching it. It gave me a new perspective on what doctors (especially residents) go through and how they grow, mess up, and eventually figure things out. I liked how each character was so different from the others. At first, I didn’t think they would get anything right, but the way they slowly improved and found their rhythm was beautiful to watch.

By the end, I was emotional—I didn’t want it to be over. Some people might not feel the same, but for me, the final episode hit hard. I was already missing all the characters by the time the credits rolled. It just shows you their daily struggles, the patients they care for, and how hard it is to be a doctor, especially as a resident. It makes you appreciate everything from a different angle.

Also, I have to say—I was waiting to hear Um Jae-il’s song when they finally played it i was so happy. That was such a great moment. The soundtrack in general was really okay i didn’t really listen to them because they didn't feel right.

Overall, Resident Playbook is a drama I’ll always remember, and I’m really hoping we get a Season 2. There’s still so much more to see from these characters, and I’d love to continue the journey with them.
