Too short to do anything
This series isn't long enough to do anything with this kind of plot. It could have been interesting if it had been given more time because we have the pretend-boyfriend trope, and we have death threats hanging over one of the main characters, along with a controlling family who want him to marry his childhood friend. All things that can make up a good series if done well and given the time to flesh out the ideas and the characters. This series didn't get the time to do either.
The chemistry between our main characters was good, but that doesn't mean much when the relationship is so -- stagnant? I can't think of another word for it. It wasn't really interesting in the beginning, and it doesn't feel like it really goes anywhere. I was almost expecting a murder/suicide at the end because the way it ended felt more tense than any other part of the show.
The pacing was constant throughout the series; there was never a moment where it felt too fast or dragged. The short run time helped with this, but I've watched many short series that had the same kind of run time and horrible pacing, so production did a good job there, making the story flow with nothing unnecessary added.
