I actually agree with your point. ZLS is actually a good actress that doesn't seem to rely only on looks but something…
You may read the other tons of similar opinions. My comment is one of so many. The key word is "seems" :)

I think it was really well written, it's one of the qualities of this drama. They cut about 3 eps, but the director did a great job, in the end the editing was one of the best I've seen for a modern drama. There's not a single thing you have to wonder about, everything is clear, no holes in the plots. Another good thing is they were loyal to drama 's genre, they didnt dilute it with unnecessary subplots, even with the risk of having a too simple story. It's a love story of 5 years, which starts with the narrative of a girl who has a crush for an older man and ends with their fulfilled love story. Drama focus on it, all the other chars come to support the development of the loveline
Every stages of SZ char development has its own beauty: childish, wittiness, cuteness, her blooming as a woman, shyness, loyalty, to a grow up woman who is confident, kind, lovely and lovable, supporting. ZLS nailed all these stages

SZ cut all ties with DJX in her 17s. Between 17-19 they didnt meet, didnt talk. Their interaction between her 14-17 was min, and it was about their first meeting and the fact he helped her seeing his teacher(after he talked about it with his brother and had his accep.) his kindness made her wanted a goog/nice brother like him. This is the diff between the novel and drama. SZ had a crush for DJX at 14 in the novel, but not in the drama, were her feeling is one of admiration/she wished a big brother like him instead of the mad dog (SY)
Things change when she is 17 and her admiration turns into a crush. She admits she is in love.
Meanwhile, DJX has several part time jobs, their interactions are limited till the point he became her tutor. He is a person liked by her parents, they saw him as a trustful person, with a hard life . He needs money, but he didnt stretch out this tutoring when he understood she doesnt need help anymore
What I like about this stage is that he always kept that adult-child relation: he is protective, kind, like a big brother, he stimulated her to have better results, offer lil gifts to motivate her but declined her when she asked for his address etc. Being such a good big brother was a sort of escape from his problems.
It was nice to see him in the airport, reading her message for the New Year. It's the first time when she brings a lil comfort in his life, and was nice for us to see the support flows both ways, coz till now he was the one who helped
He talked about his debts, it's the first moment I didnt notice that adult-child relationship, he spoke to a friend.
What makes this drama a gem of its kind, are all those lil details...which I love :). Beginning with his car number which means "I love you sang zhi", the titles of every chapter which are songs meant to describe SZ 's feelings till the slippers with small strawberries he bought for her(coz she loves strawberries), matching outfits....drama is full of details and lil hints. And the OSTS...gosh...that forever star is so lovely
I really liked this drama, I could relate. A first crush, a pure love story

Yeah I find getting groomed comforting too 💕
girl, you are hopeless! If you dont like it, just leave it! It's that simple! But you are keeping camping here, scolding drama, when hundreds of different ppl write so lovely comments about it. You must feel very lonely on that part of the barrier

Yeah, it's quite a fluffy romance drama but not childish. It's not a typical high school/college drama, not focused…
Awesome!

SZ is far to be a weak char.
She was strong enough to let her first love go when she thought he lied to her, cut all ties for 2 years.
She was strong enough to let go her best friend when she betrayed her in the high school.
She was strong when she dealt with her boss and that obsessed woman
She stand for her man, def him/protected him. She became his family, making from his house a home. She was there for him when his father died. They are equal in their relationship, the help, support flows in both ways.
"I healed the wounds of his youth, he fulfilled my young first love. Our story. From his twenty-two years old by the end of my twenty-two years"

If you see SZ char only as a cute/funny/shy char you wasted your time watching HL

Goodness gracious, what a bore! I dropped the drama 'cause I can't fathom what they possibly have to say in 25…
de gustibus non disputandum est :) I really love it. Watched it 3 times already. And I guess I will rewatch it between heavy dramas. It's like a fresh breath, a happy pill

I dont know if its because I had too much expectations but imo the drama was a bit underwhelming not that wanted…
maybe coz you use to see actresses of 28-30 acting chars of 14-16? All costume dramas have heroines of 14-16 played by mature actresses. So, our eyes/mind is trained with another image for a chinese young girl. In fact they are small, childish, thin, looking several years younger than caucasians

girl, you rated a single drama on MDL and that is HL. Gifted it with 1. There is no grooming...doh! drama, chars are green flags. The fact Chinese Gov Media praises it on all its platforms, Tv channels & Netflix rated it +7 (which means even kids can watch it) should be guarantees this drama is green flag
Your presence here shows this drama is successful.

I feel really bothered with the fact that he just seems in love with her since she's a minor and he's a college…
He is protective and nice, that's why SZ wished she could have a nice/kind big brother like him. He is her brother's best friend. DJX also is very grateful to her family, they helped him when his mother died (financial support, emotional support). He is a lonely guy, a hard worker (he has to pay his debts). He was touched by SZ small gestures (like the red envelope for the New Year, her offer to support him to pay his debt). He had no love interest, more, he had no idea about her feelings for him.
There is the anticipation, I guess. You know for sure they will be a couple in the future, so is normal to suspect their behavior. They really make it clear everything in the drama, in last episodes.
He is green flag, so no worries. Enjoy the show :)

I watched almost every Zhao Lusi drama, I really like her. Her other dramas are on my high rewatch value, but…
Actually she offers an entire palette of emotions. She brings char to life, her acting is awesome in HL. It's kinda strange, your opinion is really unpopular. But...de gustibus non disputandum est

According to twitter today, the Hello Saturday episode is pushed back to November 18th now! Disappointed.
Maybe coz TLI will come sooner

So many melons in this drama, there must be many who think no one wants to play a drama with Lusi Even though…
Definitely. She is in industry for only 6 years. She always says she has to work hard. I am pretty sure she will always give all her best with every each role.

actually her fans asked from the beginning the producer to keep her own voice, to not let some1 else dub her voice.…
to be honest...I dont believe that. They released a single teaser, there is a clear diff between the 2 chars she dubbed. The childish voice for the water beast and the mature tone for the phoenix. There arent any leaks from the recording studio, so they apparently pointed to the teaser. Sound is the last thing they will fix. they didnt even finish all the dubbing. Still lot of work to do...and this is all about production.
I cant see (hear lol) a problem, I dont speak mandarin. If there are issues, they will be fixed

actually her fans asked from the beginning the producer to keep her own voice, to not let some1 else dub her voice. And she promised that.
