And that’s a wrap!!! 3 chengyi drama in 4 months and this is by far the best one! Story, acting, cinematography, action ALL chef’s kiss🙂‍↕️Everyone did such a good job in their own roles and they’re all so memorable!! I’m so glad the whole team for this drama is serious about delivering quality work and so so glad that cheng yi got to play Xie Huai’an with such a professional team. I will be recommending this to many people.😆Now I wait for Cheng Yi next drama🔜

wow I wish I have this level of writing skill.. I just had a discussion with my colleague after epi 21 about how she can't understand the plot or that everyone is untrustworthy or that everyone is miserable or that some of the story implications are not straightforward enough for her to understand or that the show is too stressful for her and so on... I just told her, girl that's the whole point of the drama?? I guess she just want to watch a satisfying drama about revenge where the ml keeps winning from epi 1 until the end.. like the k-drama 'The Glory' so I just ended up telling her to go and watch those kind of show instead lol

I gotta say.. I enjoyed this overall, except for my disappointment with how they developed the FL and the draggy plot of the spider brother. The acting of all casts are great. The CGI is also fantastic. Wang Quan Fugui is my #2 CY character now.

The ending wasn’t so bad either, I like the recall of the masked group. As for the romance, because they changed the FL so much, I lost my spark for the CP early so I didn’t mind any type of ending for them as I stopped investing much into it.

I hope we can stop bringing whatever rumors or speculations is going on in the fan-circle.. At the end of the day, NOONE can confirm what went wrong behind the scene. As a viewer, I can only watch what I am given.. if a show is bad, it is bad. If it is good, it is good. That's it. There really is no point pointing fingers at anyone or anything... this should be a place where people talk about the drama and the drama only.. we can discuss about the plot and the characters.. what we like about and what we don't.. Despite being fan of certain actors/actresses, there are people who just watch the show without digging too much into things. If our fav's show is good, we are very lucky and happy that they produce quality product.. if it is not, then we can only wait for their future works and hope that we will like them.

I hope we can create a space where everyone can happily talk and discuss about the drama that they're currently watching. With lesser details about who is doing what and what not. Wouldn't it be nice if we just talk about that?

There will be a lot of irritating scenes from time to time but you have to make past the FL redemption arc (I forgot which episodes).. all the heartache will be worth it.. trust me.. If you like CY, I'm sure you can push through for him or might make you completely drop it too lolll.. but as a drama watcher myself, I enjoyed it quite a lot..

Just want to put out my 2 cents since I created MDL account recently just for Cheng Yi. I remember back in 2024 after watching MLC, I became obsessed with Cheng Yi like a mad man. This drama wasn't my first choice after finishing MLC, I watched IS first since it was with Yang Zi. I only cried one time.. a little.. at Ying Yuan's family reunion. I skipped a lot watching lol but I do loved the chemistry between CY & YZ, it is sill my go-to show if I want to fangirl over CY's visual.. he was so handsome as Ying Yuan.. my goodness..

I saw a lot of people hating the FL character of this show so I was very reluctant to start. I watched this show the last among all CY's dramas despite the popularity.. and boy was I wrong. Despite the long episodes and being a female-centric, I ENJOYED it so much more that I thought I would.. the main story line was so engaging from the beginning.

I was prepared to not like the FL since there are a lot of not-so-good reviews but BOY forget about not liking, I was rooting for her the entire time.. she was always in character.. all her actions & choices stay very consistent throughout the show.. YES I felt very frustrated with some of her actions and cursed her a lot (lol) BUT I couldn't hate her AT ALL.. It always make sense to me why she did the things she did.. that was her character.. I was so so satisfied when I reached her redemption arc.. it was one of the most satisfying redemption arc I have ever seen.. and I was so impressed by the actress portrayal.. She was very naive but she was always sincere towards the ML, despite having no senses, her feeling for the ML is always clear and she fought everyone for him from the beginning..

I cried soooo many times, at little white snake departure, SF crying at his past tragic 10 life, when SF finally forgive(i mean he never blamed her in the first place) and hug XJ, when SF bye bye (bro I think I cried the whole episode for this one), when XJ stabbed SF and didn't believe him, when the bird bro spilled all the beans to XJ and realized she was wrong,.. man lots of tears were shed..

No wonder this was so popular back then. The chemistry between the 2 leads is INSANE. I thought to myself, CY went all out on romance for this one lol. The female actress was also very good.. I was very impressed.. This show, I HIGHLY recommend.

I doubt CY will do any heavy romance like this one anymore so I should treasure this.

I couldn’t stop crying at Hongye and Fugui yet again.. When papa caress Gui’er face I cried so so hard man FG little face was just so sad😭 now the only person who call him Gui’er is gone“Our Gui’er is unparalleled in the world”…he really is😭

Wouldn’t it be a bit weird if they kiss after all these mess?😅not that I would mind if they do have a kiss scene.. I already gave up on making sense of any of QT’s parts.. I just love watching CY kiss since he is so damn good at it🤭

I cried a river at Fugui and Hongye scene😭

Muahahahaha QC is finally Ko’ed huhu the bright QT will finally be back tmr!! Actually I wanted QT to firmly rejects QC with clearer dialogue like “I will never see you as more than a brother” or such😅..but oh well at least he’s gone now..
I’m so glad she took care of him herself..I’m quite pleased🙂‍↕️tho the execution of the scene is still questionable lol
Anywayssss I need tmr episodes to see if we are actually really back!!

Oh and I enjoyed Rumu/Yunfei scenes quite a lot hehe

I’m still hopeful that the show can still be saved.. let’s be honest here, the show is really good overall. Only the drastic shift in writing about the spider siblings is what dragging the show but that will end once QC is taken care of and QT is back to her bright self (I know she will because there is a poster of her with gorgeous bright clothes for later episodes) once that happens, we will get back the good plot from the early episodes.. I mean I hope😅no amount of setbacks can make me drop a cheng yi drama😂

Honestly this is exactly how I try to make sense of all her actions but damn it’s really hard seeing her fumble again and again.. it’s genuinely exhausting.. the impact is huge because she was so likeable in the early episodes and writers just decided to throw her character away just like that

Welp at least Fugui is still Fugui.. that’s enough for me🫶🏻 the plot maybe declining but actor CY will still deliver

Yea she should’ve.. QT is way too blind.. she should know Fugui would never let her brother die even if he let him be captured but NO! She freaking took him away right in front of him.. I actually felt so bad for Fugui.. she should’ve trusted him like how he trusted her..

Ok QT is getting on my nerves now… like girl stop protecting your psycho brother.. at this point you two should just get together.. she doesn’t deserve to be with Fugui🙄 they completely ruined her character.. I prayed so hard for QT and FG to be together in the early episodes but now, I actually don’t care anymore.. I have officially lost my spark for the couple!! Why they do me like this😭 I actually don’t mind the lesser romance between the two leads from the beginning. I even got butterflies with them just stealing glances at each other..But QT change wayyyyyy too much and I finally reach my last straw in today’s episode.. I cannot feel the butterflies anymore😭😭 and QC need to go man geez dude’s infuriating

Yeah I also think the story is going in that direction unfortunately.. now that I know even HH and YC struggled, it's even more ridiculous to make her purify it haha but oh well.. if the contribution ratio is FG 80% and QT 20%, then I guess I'm still fine with it.
