Exactly. The audience can feel the chemistry and even feel really hot just by gestures and movements the characters make. For example in Ticket to Heaven. There was not even one NC yet, it was SUPER HOT in many scenes and you could even feel wet/hard.

I do like their kisses they way they are. They don't need to change anything. Not all kisses of the world are deep tongue sh1t. We are not here to watch pay gorn. We are here to see deep intimacy in REAL DEAPTH. They show us a couple who experiences gay love for the first time. Also, as i said, not all people kiss deeeeppplyyy. Biting between the upper lip and the nose is also very intimate and can turn on a lot of men (speaking from experience 🤐).
