I want to believe that they chose an actress that looks old because they want to portray that hardship made her grow old faster. Being a hanyeo isn't easy. Maybe that's why she didn't want the life for her daughter. If you look at the hanyeo aunts, they too looked old at a younger age.
I know that the 2ML & 2FL will end up liking each other but it's seriously annoying to watch their interference.
