In the first time line, I thought he was the one that saved Im Sol and died in the process since he was not in that future, and everyone was just 'hush hush' about the incident.
There is no low point for this drama. It gets better after every episode. I don't even mind the psychopathic killer, he is filler material to me, just a stepping stone to their happy ending. I hope it keeps being this good.

I think he did throw the vase out of anger as she was walking away and that's what made her stop in her tracks for a minute before walking out. That's my interpretation.
I guess there are multiple leads because I can't believe the court ladies, guards and eunuchs get more screen time than the main leads. In the last two episodes they appeared 2 or 3 times and for only 2 minutes at most.

Lol, I love your second point. The worst in their marriage already happened, the divorce. They got over it. What's left now is walking the road ahead hand in hand. It's hard keeping a lovey dovey and twinkling feeling after marriage.
I believe YES's last actions and end were his character arc. It could have gone in two ways, turning a new leaf and starting over by paying for his crimes or going crazy beyond a saving point. He chose the latter and met with his demise. He has no one to blame but himself and his mother's neglect and abandonment.
