Surprised that I know about this show before but never started it due to no subs but now I want to so bad since there's YZxDL the perfect couple. Hopefully someone will sub this too.

I would say watch it but try watching the trailers/bts to see if it's to your taste.

Hey I'm also watching HSALF and I agree with @gendobie it's not worth it.

Not a big fan of the original but all I can say is the acting there is better especially peter ho as ou Chen here the acting is more on the mild side although I have to say Barbie hsu's acting wasn't anything phenomenal so I guess xiao mo's bland acting in the new one really can't be compared since both are just eh. Wasted my time, I'm just honestly disappointed in the leads acting it's not that great I expected it to be better than the original but it was the same or actually even worse.

I'm pretty sure this is getting subbed by fans and I'm really thankful to the subbers but some episodes are just a mess they messed up the names and many other things so bad it seemed like they google translated it or something. Also after watching halfway already Idk what to say other than it's not as interesting as the synopsis sounds, I've been fastforwarding a lot to the point that I'm skipping some episodes too. Second disappointment after fuyao.

Demon princess is basically not needed in the show at all like honestly even if she was there or not it wouldn't change the plot or add any exciting factor. If you're talking about the army or how XF will become the demon lord I think in the novel it explained that since he was so powerful all the other demon kings submitted to him so there's no need for her to act as his power/bridge or anything. At first I didn't mind her showing up a lot but it's becoming a little too much especially when her story isn't that interesting at least to me. Ik it's not that bad but it annoys me when a character get so much screen time when they make no difference just because they need to get promoted/popular.

Ik people are mad about night appearing a lot but honestly he as I said in my other post is basically a lead in the novel so without him the story would be changed or not be as interesting. The thing that I'm not too happy about is night's soldier and the demon princess taking up too much screen time when their appearances does nothing to the plot. This reminds me a lot of TMOPB where they gave so much screentime to supporting characters like why, they're supporting but half of the 50 something episodes were about the second lead's romance which again doesn't help the plot at all. Literally I was so mad that they took away time from little riceball and his family development that the ending felt so bland and rushed, hopefully this won't be the same as TMOPB where supporting characters will take up as much or even more screen time than the leads. I still love HSALF a lot it's still amazing but I just wish they wouldn't focus too much on supportings like the demon princess her story is not needed and give more time for the plot development instead or just give more screentime to our otp.

I mean night was basically a lead in the novel so I don't see why he wouldn't have some screen time as everything basically happened because of him. People shouldn't be too mad cause we get to understand the story more. It doesn't explain as much in the novel about some event and what led to it so I honestly like the show more since its showing us why somethings happened. But overall I would still like to see our OTP more their chemistry is out of the world. Also I'm getting tired of seeing the demon princess and night's soldier when their character makes no difference to the plot.

I literally get tired when they show the soldier or the demon princess like they're not even important characters so why are they having so much screen time.

Finally rewatched all the eng subs and I still can't get over how XF told JM it's okay to strip him but not other people ^-^

I feel like it more of an obsession like the empress since she's trying to kill JM like how empress killed Zi Fen

The synopsis says "someone is trying to use those feelings for their own benefit" it should be changed to everyone is out there scheming/uses both JM and XF... smh really wonder how can there be so many jealous/bitter character in this show. Literally it's 99.1% bitter characters, still I love this show so much it's interesting to see all of this since the novel was only in the point of JM. Here we get to see and know a lot more on why or what caused somethings. The only thing that I'm still confused on is how in the world did the bird cousin fall for XF like honestly he doesn't reciprocate her feelings at all or even care for her so Idek why she's still so stuck on wanting to be with him.

No he just got resurrected in hell and decided to stay since he can't go back to heaven where night is and he's supposedly so powerful so all the other demon ruler submitted to him therefore he became demon lord.

This reminds me of Bu Bu Jing Xin a lot even though theres really no similarity but after BBJX this is the only show where I'm hooked since first episodes although ruoxi was more of a strong character and here Jin mi is more or less of naive due to being locked up and the pill. Also the second male lead are somewhat similar since they do love the fl but still chooses to go through with their ambition, however the 8th prince was more like genuine love while night was just seeking for comfort.

Night did that for his own advantages not because it's good for Jin Mi. One thing I totally dislike about night in the novel was how selfish he was towards Jin Mi like she's naive about love due to the unfeeling pill which gave night the opportunity to use her in the name of "love"
