I definitely agree that Eun gyeol should've been a e to regain memories of his present life and how 2023 pan out after returning. the idea that he remembers nothing his present but just shows up in that life didn't quite fit

it was a revenge plot but he was won over by the queen who suggested that she was interested in destroying gugoryeo and building a new kingdom. in the end, she had them exactly where she needed them to be, it looked so effortless but very calculative.
