better than decent drama if you watch it purely for the light hearted vibes and also watching the ML's affection…
I also felt anxiety when Mirae kept going back to using the device and exceeding the limit. Also, the scene where she crosses the street at a dangerous intersection because she hallucinated seeing Eunho? Not to mention the app literally using a non consenting person's to create Mirae's dream guy. I could go on and on it felt so eerie to me.
I'm on episode 3 and I don't understand why all the villagers are so rude to her and want her gone. Like she is just a nice person that doesn't even make too much noise what do you want from her? ;;
One thing that bothers me about the second couple is that, when they go to the convenience store the clerk tells them "minors can't buy functioning kinds you must buy the regular kinds" referring to condoms. So they are sold to minors? Plus in the next scene they all drink alcohol? It feels so weird to me.
I rarely drop dramas, I try to see to the end but I had to stop watching at episode 8. The story for me is repetitive, Taepung does something reckless, gets scolded and the day is saved. Rinse and repeat. Plus at one point I begin to question the son of the villain like why does he hate him so much??? But what amazed me the most is that this drama won the best writing award like...I guess I don't have good taste. To each their own.
Well this descended into sh*t. Initially dropped it early on then picked it up again. Should have left it dropped…
Bad guys winning, losing memory, brief break up, second lead couple magically getting together. The bad father suddenly coming to his senses...I mean it's a huge soup of all or nothing!
This drama feels like a korean tourism advertisement about traditional food. If you are not someone interested in making/trying out korean dishes this drama is not for you lol.
About romance arc, I really don't think it was that strong. It felt like the FL wasn't really interested in the ML until the very last episodes and even then it felt kind of forced. It's not about Yoona's acting, it's about the way her character was written.
Also the queen...I don't know if it's due to the drama being so short but she was nowhere to be found when the king fell more and more in love with the cook lol. Usually in traditional drama settings there would be more backstory regarding the jealousy and stuff.
So, personally I didn't enjoy it that much due to the overwhelming emphasis on food but in the end it's Bon Appetit! so what can I expect? But definitely not an 8.6 drama like come on people.
Just finished first episode and I have this question in mind. She released the guy on the grounds that he would go ahead and murder her somehow. I mean was it really necessary to watch the girl kill herself so that he could be branded as a murderer?
Plus the episode with the children. She is apparently Justitia but she can't even explain why the statue's eyes are covered, why she carries a sword properly? I just finished one episode but I'm already very pissed off by her attitude towards people, towards grieving families etc. I find it quite annoying.
Did I miss something? So in the last episodes, the new guy asks for a charger from jung wo but then it is shown that he already has a working charger. Then, this is completely brushed off and the guy also becomes a victim. What was that about? I thought he was also working with moon jo or something.
---TRIGGER WARNING S/A---I understand this is a dark show dealing with heavy topics but was the r*pe scene really necessary? God it was so awful I skipped it but still got caught by a straight bullet at the beginning.
Wait so is the FL older than ML? How much is the age difference? It sounds a bit weird reading the plot overview. Edit: Yes I meant the characters' age gap, not the real actor and actress'.
Young Woo's best friend sees attorney kwon trying to enter young woo's room, scolds him and then leaves? She saw many times how attorney kwon bullied her, insulted her etc....my mind is blown. Also, I have to say, attorney kwon is one of the most annoying and rotten on the inside characters ever. I am on episode 12 and i hope he ends up with no one.
I'm sorry, how does this have 8,8 rating? Lol, the comedy is cringe here and suicide doesn't work like that. Few…
I believe their intention in the long run was not to reduce the suicide cases into matters to be solved with words but rather to emphasize the idea that a lot of these cases begin with people losing faith in themselves, being pushed by others to the edge, and not having even a few words of comfort. That's my interpretation.
I'm on episode 8 and I came here to say that I really can't stand either Bora or her friend. From the very first episodes Bora was acting so unhinged it was difficult to like her. Especially "after the break up" episodes, they were so over the top and such downgrading to watch as a woman that it hurt my soul. I understand that not everyone would have the same responses to a break up but the portrayal of Bora after she separates from her ex is truly humiliating. Now she goes on to say, "I need to see him again to break up with him" ??? I mean what the hell is going on??? Girl let him go. And the ML tags along to all of this shenenigan?
And her friend......in the first episodes where it was cleared out that her husband married her only because he couldn't say no really was so sad to hear. I thought in these episodes both Bora and her friend would set on a path of self-compassion but nope, they went even more unhinged. Plus the friend seemed to have forgotten everything, bought herself a bag and then says stuff like "My oppa is so handsome look at him". "My oppa bought this bag for me." Lawd I really can't such portrayal of women like that. I don't know if I'm reading too much into it but I just wanted to vent here.
First of all thank you for this great article. I am Turkish and to be honest I didn't know some of these dramas were a remake I watched "AÅŸk, Ekmek, Hayaller" once and the entire episode was the same with the Korean one I was really shocked. Anyways, the shows are still pretty decent (even though they are basically remakes) and so I would recommend anyone who wants to have an oriental version of the Korean dramas they watch, but beware, most of the episodes are 2 hours or more.......
