Ridiculous, superficial entertainment.
This is my first review on here, so I'll try to keep it simple and hope it helps someone to assess whether they want to give this one a go.
The Trauma Code was fun to watch and totally over the top. As a medical drama that usually encompasses many aspects of the 'hospital experience' - doctor's lives, patients' stories, medical procedures, inner politics - it covered many, but fell flat in the details.
The main characters were 2 dimensional & underdeveloped, the patients' stories mattered not one bit, the political maneuvering & motivations of the higher-ups were cartoonishly evil, and only the medical procedures got given a certain amount of details. If not for the great production budget, it would be a pretty stock-standard KDrama.
All the above 'cons' are what made it such an easy, uncomplicated watch. The under-dog, 'good' trauma team vs. the greedy/ambitious, 'evil' upper management.
The acting was good all-round.
If there is a season 2, I hope they develop and give some depth to the characters, and allow the patients' stories to become more relevant.
Overall, it was a mostly fun watch - a totally unrealistic, 'genius hero/talented sidekick' driven plot, that happened to be set in a hospital with some appropriate medical scenes/terminology thrown about to set the stage.
