Agree with your 'take' and 'differences' between novel and drama. Honestly, IMHO, I don't blame HBY for not involving CSS (& timing of the revenge) because CSS, no matter how mature and capable she was at her age, is still 15 plus. She and her family ultimately came to rescue him but I understand the omission on his part of his final act of revenge. CSS learned eventually the court/royal families strategic ways and how life is not as innocent as it appears; very similar to big corporations' politics. She had to equip and prep for what's to come.

The way the empress shared her own opinions and wanting their reconciliation was great because these two are literally 'kids' and cannot fathom what they had was so special! My beloved mom did the same right after my beloved father passed away; she reminded 'us' of appreciating the loves/romances we found.

Another candor: my beau and I also enjoyed some separation (due to long distance); we arrived at finally appreciating what we have found in one another. As much as I like the interactions/interplay between the leads throughout the drama, I liked how CSS took the 5 years to reflect, etc. 👍 Their sacrifices (i.e. HBY protecting her loved ones indirectly and her shutting herself off to do good for empress and herself) for one another meant more in the long run.

1) Who is the singer when 5th princess was dancing during Empress's bday banquet? She was also present during the luncheon for General Hut's memorial, therefore, she must be part of the Royal family.

2) What is the significance of bronze mirror (why was it embarrassing for LJT as a dowry gift from HBY other than that HBY does not want her)? I read that bronze mirrors were used to fend off bad luck in ancient times.
